Came here for a proper Bavarian lunch. Despite the name (I think Giesinger is the neighborhood), this is an Augustiner-sponsored pub/tavern/biergarten. All of the Augustiner beers are available here, including the Pils and Weissbier in bottles that they pour into a proper glass. Their traditional menu is fantastic, with both the classic German dishes and some great regional meals, including a great seasonal menu. I had a bowl of chestnut cream soup which was simply incredible. Decided on the roast pork in dark beer gravy and sides of saurkraut and potato dumplings. Great vibe/atmosphere with ALL locals coming in for a beer and lunch. Local construction workers, older retired folks, young families. This is clearly a neighborhood institution.

In my top 3 pubs/restaurants in Munich that I visit every single time I travel there. Located in the Giesing district of Munich it’s not central but has a large craft brewery nearby as well as lots of great restaurants (Mainly Italian and Greek). It’s also a stone’s throw from the river Isar. The food at The Giesinger Garten itself is exceptional. Outstanding local cuisine and even a weekly lunch menu for under €10. Beer is outstanding by the very knowledgeable tapsters. Shows all televised Bayern and 1860 games and maybe others on request of you ask nicely. Proper Augustiner pub.

Geisinger Garten offers a true taste of traditional German cuisine in a charming, rustic setting. They’re particularly noted for their extensive range of Augustiner beers which do not disappoint. They offer a large amount of indoor and outdoor seating areas too, fit for small to large groups. The food was hearty, flavourful, and averagely priced. I’d recommend it for its authentic atmosphere and generous portions - perfect for anyone wanting a genuine Bavarian and laidback dining experience.
