Hamam Anatolia — Local services in Munich

It was a relaxing Hammam experience. We booked last minute and were well taken care of. We chose the peeling massage, and here’s how it went: they provided a textile wrap to cover up, so bringing a swimsuit isn’t mandatory (though note, it’s not a textile-free space).

We entered the hammam and waited for about an hour and a half in the warm central hall. The treatment included a body peeling—where you can request it to be done softly or with more pressure—followed by soaping and a massage. At the time of our visit, this service was priced at €75 (excluding tip).

A useful tip: you can bring your own shampoo, shower gel, or peeling glove if you prefer. They provide a new peeling glove you can keep, along with shampoo and shower gel. The facilities also include a sauna and a relaxation room.

My partner and I (from the U.S.) enjoyed the Harmony of the Senses package on a rainy Munich afternoon that was a perfect counterweight to Oktoberfest's mild abuses. Both the scrub "peel" massage and the foam (so much foam! like being in a bubble machine) massage were unusual and very enjoyable. The pre-massage warming session on the tile table/floor was also pleasant, though we were unsure of the finer protocols (shower with the towel on, or off? Apply the rose water in the pink bottles? etc.) and timing (how long before our massages begin?). Both of our masseuses were FANTASTIC, and we felt like newborn babies after they finished. Do note that if you plan to keep your hairdo, that's unlikely, as your head gets wet down completely, and at the end there are buckets of water splashed over you. Ich habe den Besuch beim Hammam Anatolia von meinem Mann geschenkt bekommen. Leider musste ich aus privaten Gründen 3x den Termin verschieben, das ging problemlos. Vielen Dank hierfür! Diese Woche war ich dann letztendlich vor Ort. Mit dem Auto gekommen und parken war direkt vor der Tür möglich, MVV ist dennoch die bessere Wahl. Nette Begrüßung und kurze Einführung. Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter. Nur der Empfang ist im EG, das Hammam und alle anderen Räume im fensterlosen UG. Etwas düster aber schön und nicht muffig. Nach dem Abduschen sollte ich im warmen Hammam auf meine "Harmonie der Sinne" Anwendung warten. Das war nicht ganz einfach weil es sehr voll war und ich erst neben einem Wasserbecken saß bevor ich mich wie empfohlen auf den warmen Stein legen konnte wo ich auf die Anwendung warten sollte. Unangenehm war mir, dass man quasi im Schweiß der Vorbenutzer lag. Hätte ich den Liegebereich mit Wasser abgewaschen wären die Besucher rechts und links von mir nass geworden. Man lag recht eng zwischen anderen Besuchern, die teilweise sehr innig miteinander geknutscht haben. Auf dem warmen aber natürlich harten Stein habe ich dann eine ganze Weile gewartet bis mir gesagt wurde, dass es nochmal etwa 40 Minuten dauert bis ich dran bin. Das war gut zu wissen, denn die Folgezeit konnte ich endlich in der schönen Sauna und dem Ruheraum verbringen. Die Anwendungen selbst (Peeling und Seifenschaummassage), durchgeführt von Hassan, waren absolut super.

FAZIT: Da die Anwendung richtig gut war empfehle ich das Hammam Anatolia gerne. Auf jeden Fall würde ich nächstes Mal bei Ankunft schon abklären, wann die Anwendung tatsächlich stattfindet. Einfach um den Besuch einfach besser genießen zu können, denn meine lange Wartezeit auf die Anwendung war diesmal...
