This hotel is a little far out from the city center, and that is fine because it’s accessible by Metro. It is in an area where you hear a lot of police cars and street noise.||The front desk speaks English very well and they want to be helpful but the philosophy seems to just be there’s nothing they can do when your room sucks. I was there with a large group and the air conditioning was not working in all of the rooms. Another room smelled like smoke. The air conditioning worked okay in some of the rooms, but nothing great. It was very hot in Munich. When the problems were brought to the attention of the staff, they basically just said that they were booked , and there was no way to change rooms the first night. They didn’t seem to really care that the amenities that they offer on their website were not available. They did not have any fans or even really tried to help us find a solution for the problems. We were there when it was extremely hot. ||If you were looking for a very basic room, this is for you. There’s very little floor space for your luggage, especially if you were in a three person. The bathroom is small. It has a standup shower. Water gets all over the bathroom when you use it, but it was fine. The pillows are very flat and not good, but the bed was fine. Make sure you have slippers or something because the hardwood floors are very dirty and even just stepping on them bring dirt up all over your bed.||There were some common areas to hang out with friends staying in the hotel and there is a laundromat on the same block, which was extremely nice if you are traveling for a long period of time it was open 6 am-11pm It only takes euro change and the front desk was happy to make change for you, which was very nice.||They do have a nice selection of snacks and pizza that you can order. The breakfast was okay. Sadly, if you wanted one of their cute little heart waffles, you had to wait a very long time as there was just one machine and many people in the...
Read moreA little bit far away from attractions like Marienplatz, but the U-bhan system is easy to navigate and makes this a great option.
I love that they have floors and not carpet - makes everything feel a little cleaner. The shower without a door is not my favorite, but seems that many hotels have the issue of an ill-planned bathrooms.
Room is OK size for 2 adults - bed type is new and I have never seen like this before, but very comfortable! NOTE - electric plugs are European only, so if you are from any other electric area, make sure to bring adaptors. This surprised me since the hotel looks very new, so I thought they would have updated plugs for all types.
Breakfast in the morning is kind of expensive at 10 Euro, but food was nice. Otherwise there is a McDonalds and a few grocery stores nearby.
Coming from airport, best route is to take S8 train to Rosenehimerplatz, go upstairs and take the Tram 15 or 25 to Tegernseer Landstrasse. Go towards the busy intersection and you will see the Beirgarten on your right. GO LEFT. Ibis is down the block off the main road. At first, it will seem really far away from everything, but once you get the U-bhan system, it is a good location for the price. Plus I like to ride the trains in cities I visit.
Other things to note: bathroom items like toothbrush kit are not immediately available - you can call the desk or just bring your own. No refrigerator in the room - we like to buy our own food, so that was a little difficult.

Read moreIn general, pretty nice stay. We visited in December. The place was quite and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were modern and in good condition. Quite comfortable, but sized or furnished in a way where you'd want to spend a lot of time in it outside of sleeping and washing. Pretty much as expected from a hotel of this price. Good transport links.
The reason I cannot give it more stars is due to an issue unique to winter. This hotel disables its air conditioning in winter time (but still advertises air conditioned rooms...). Our room heated up to a ridiculous temperature on our first night which seriously disturbed our rest. When we complained about the heat in the morning, we were advised to open the window. Apparently the air conditioning could be turned on at all. The problem with opening the window is that the hotel is situated next to two very busy roads. So we had the choice of having an uncomfortably hot room or an incredibly noisy room. Not ideal for sleeping. Due to this I would NOT RECOMMEND visiting during the winter - other times of the year would be...
