Pepenero Schwabing — Restaurant in Munich

We had a reservation at 18:30 today and we waited for 20mins at the door. The waitress said she will come back to show us the table, which lasted 20mins. She was busy serving tables and noone welcomed new guests. Lots of people just decided to sit on the emptied tables as they saw fit. We were trying to tell the people that we had reserved and we should be seated first. Also the fact that we arrived before them. There was noone in the restaurant who managed guests, who cared. I noticed that tge waiters were chatting with guests quite a while. Lauging and having fun. While we waited 20mins for someone to look at us. Finally we did what others did after 20mins. We sat at the first table emptied. Very bad management…

Addendum: after we sat we waited another 20minutes for getting someone to take our order. At this stage everyone who sat after us was being served, it almost felt there was something personal or else we were invisible! Finally I decided to verbally complain and the waiter told me that I am sotting at the wrong side of the restaurant, this side is not for people who reserved. She told me what I did was wrong, but I can do “whatever I want” if I choose to do so. But there will be consequences. I am terribly disappointed and I will tell anyone I know in Munich this story!!! Horrible experience! First, we sat on the terrasse and since there were so many flies and bees we asked to move to the inside. The waitress assigned us a table but didn’t move a finger to help us! We were carrying our plates and glasses all over the restaurant! Actually we did go three times between the 2 tables to carry everything and the waitress was watching us without even offering help. Second, after about half an hour the waitress came back and asked if we’re were finished, we said not yet!And in a blink of an eye she took the plates (even the half-full ones we were still eating) and said that we needed to leave now because the table was reserved and people were waiting (even though there were plenty of empty tables) and went running to the kitchen. As she came back with the bill my friend asked to take what remained on the plates as a takeaway. She looked at him and literally yelled at him telling him that she wasn’t a mindreader and that he should have said that before urging us again to leave. Not to mention the quality of the pasta we were served that was so dry and cold! We were really appalled by this impolite attitude and we didn’t want to make a scene on the spot but for sure we will never come back to this restaurant again! TBH... This is more of a 4 stars but the service was great. The staffs repeatedly made sure that "is everything alright?" and seeing the way they serve their customers diligently, it warms my heart and thus the extra star for them.

I only had a beer, and a Linguine allo scoglio aka some kind of seafood pasta, which was good! It had little pieces of clams and squids, 2 decent sized prawns and 2 mussels, which were all good. But the tiny little squids and clams when combined, felt like they were dancing happily in my mouth with the tomatoes based linguine. It's a very decent meal for sure. Something that I didn't like...? The Spaten Hell beer... It's Abit gassy and tasted Abit different from normal German beers. I can't remember the others I drank here, but most were great and all were better than this. It's not bad, just not to my liking.
