Despite having 200 beers and being one of the few places offering Belgian beer in Munich, the staff are incredibly unfriendly and not willing to help customers. Menu features many sections of beer and included among the varieties offered is a section specifically for fruit beer. I chose what I thought was a normal lager from the draught offerings and received an incredibly sweet Belgian cherry beer. When I asked the server why this beer was not listed as cherry in either English or German I was 'informed' that the Belgian brand implied the flavour and I should have known what I ordered. I was not offered a free replacement. As the others in my party ordered one of the only main courses offered - I decided to order some chips, as I already knew not to expect much as a vegetarian. Well, the chips I ordered were instead potato crisps, which would not have been so bad, but they were paprika flavour. Nothing on the menu in either language mentioned this. When I enquired with the server I was again 'informed' that '80%' of the time when one orders chips/crisps in Bavaria/Germany that they will be paprika flavoured. I can tell you as a long-term resident of this state and as the spouse of a Bavarian - that this is not the case and my husband and I will never - ever return to the tap-house. Would not recommended. Stay away unless you enjoy terrible service and b-side offerings without...
Read moreThis is the second Taphouse I have visited, but also the best so far.
A special visit. Arrived Munich east railway station at 4:30 pm. Started the short walk towards the TapHouse. It's approximate 10 minutes. Ups. - opens at 6 pm. OK, my godmother was expecting me, but also the TapHouse. In the neighborhood ha a beer and Bruschetta. Good to spend time there while it was raining. Back to the TapHouse. Really good place with a very large range of different Beer sorts. Too much to taste in one hour. I picked some not so well known ones. First had a "Chiemsee Witt" nice to drink like a Belgium white beer. A Trapist beer "Stift Engelberg Festbier" next. If You know "Orval" You'll also like it. Final enjoyed "Frau Gruber". I followed the recommendation of the very competent employee of the house and was very enthusiastic about this choice, this is absolutely recommendable. Be a little bit late at my godmother, (80) I had a "South Coast" and Brewmaster Edition "Champagne Gang" (sold out, sorry) to share with her. First one she likes, but the second, outstanding. Sot my delay was accepted.
My stay there really convinced me and, assuming I come back to Munich, it won't be my last.

Read moreGood beer but disgusting service!!
The beer selection at this place was impressive, with 40 taps and a lot of bottled options. However, the quality of service we experienced was simply very bad.
After ordering a beer and a dessert (biermisu) while laughing and playing, my pregnant wife and I were abruptly told to leave our table within 20 minutes of sitting down. One of the staff members approached us, rudely informing my wife that she HAD TO order a drink, or we couldn’t stay. We fully understood that space might be limited, so I tried to offer to move to the bar to free up the table. Shockingly, they wouldn’t even listen to us. My attempt to express my discomfort and suggest a compromise was interrupted with a short of justification and a curt command to “pay, leave, and do not bother me more.”
It was clear that their priority was to maximize profit, not customer experience. But there are far more polite and considerate ways to manage these situations, especially when dealing with paying customers. This behavior was disrespectful, out of line, and left us feeling totally unwelcome.
First time that this happened to us. Disgusting and...
