Da Ugo — Restaurant in Nuremberg

Two stars not for the food itself, but for a couple of details that I didn't like so much... And for this price details make the difference. Antipasti extremely poor (du cose de numero), good bread but few slices (na vorta finito manco a chiede de portà nantro cestino), Carbonara really good, Cacio e Pepe fare away from how it should be (era pasta "oio e pepe", co mpo de cacio non mantecato), dessert tasteless (cassata gelato che nun sapeva ne de me, ne de te), good bottle of wine but arrived at the table already open (portà la bottija aperta ar tavolo nun se fa), waiters often out to smoke and coming back stinky of cigarette (mentre stai in servizio nun se fuma, se propio devi per lo meno l'accortezza de nun tornà dentro che odori de posacenere), not really friendly at the first impact but then goes better (se sa che i clienti so rompicojoni de natura, ma si te rode nun fallo vede appena la gente la fai...

at DA UGO you can experience real authentic traditional trattoria style from Rome. Don´t expect any pizza there which in that case is a good thing. The food is amazing and authentic. great antipasti, pasta, fish, and meat on a daily menu. the service is all italian and very nice. really great selection of different types of italian wine. the ambience is great but feels a little germanised with its typical red walls but nevertheless it still feels super cosy and authentic. because of its high demand and popularity please note to book a table one or two weeks in advance.

Da Ugo ist wohl einer der meist gelobten Italiener in Nürnberg Nord, für alle, die mehr als Pizza und Spaghetti Bolognese möchten. Wir waren an einem Montag Abend dort (mit Reservierung 3 Std vorher) , die Außenplätze waren alle belegt - daher besser rechtzeitig reservieren, vor allem wenn man mit mehr als 2 Personen kommt.

Ambiente ist klassisch italienisch und kommt sehr nah an das ran, was man wirklich auf Italiens Straßen sieht. Das trifft auch auf den Service zu. Zumindest bei den männlichen Kollegen. Die sind nämlich sehr kurz angebunden, was zum Teil schon fast unfreundlich wirkt, denn wirklich Stress hatte da keiner, von daher war es nicht ganz nachvollziehbar. Italienische Herzlichkeit strahlte nur die weibliche Bedienung aus, die uns auch auf erneute Nachfrage das Brot mit Olivenöl brachte. Und sich nach dem Essen erkundigt hat, ob wir noch etwas möchten. Zu essen hatten wir Pasta mit Salsicca und mit Ricotta und Spinat gefüllte Panzerotti mit Salbeibutter. Geschmack war bei beiden gut, nur die Panzerotti waren etwas wenig und offenbar nicht hausgemacht. Schade! Dafür aber die Tiramisu - sehr zu empfehlen. Insgesamt war das Essen gut, aber nicht dem Hype gerecht, den man bei so vielen positiven Bewertungen und Empfehlungen...
