Extremely poor customer service experience and at this restaurant! We booked our special pre New Year dinner at this restaurant, and were very much looking forward to having dinner here being our first time at this restaurant. Given the inflow of customers expected at the restaurant at this time of the year, we ensured to reserve a table for 2 more than a week in advance, which was confirmed. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, the front desk hotel representative “Roman” did not show any respect to us as guest's. There was no acknowledgement that we had a reserved booking and we were offered a seat (or better said NO SEAT), next to 2 other guest groups on the same table, who were literally asked to shift aside on their own table, and where we were literally squeezed in along with them, sticking to the other guests. We were shocked with the seat offered to us and when we requested for a different independent table (as any respectable guest would expect when we go to a restaurant for a private dinner), Roman displayed a complete unwillingness to even offer us a proper seat, saying that’s all that’s available (despite the fact that there were 2 other tables free at that point in time and we had a prior reservation) and it is what it is and walked away to attend to some other guests. His arrogance showed us that this restaurant does not value their customers at all, and rather believe that they are doing us a favour by offering us a seat at that their restaurant. We immediately walked out of the restaurant which was a complete let down. This was the worst experience we ever faced at a restaurant in Germany, and decided that we would never again step into this restaurant. Am posting this comment to share our horrid experience, so that of you read this before you plan to visit this restaurant, you can be prepared what to expect and decide otherwise, so that you do not face the same disappointment and frustration that we did. Read moreAlt Oberurseler Brauhaus is a brewpub restaurant that specializes in good German cuisine in a relaxing friendly atmosphere, which is the the main reason people visit. Their food menu consists of appetizers, salads, sausages, classic entrees, and desserts. They also have a small in-house brewery for their 3 house beers, a nice bonus. The building is 3-story white with red trim and a steep tile roof. The main building contains their dining room and a service bar (no seating). Behind the bar are their shiny copper brewing vessels, a lovely sight. They produce 3 house beers which are quite tasty, and my favorite was their Dunkel Dark Lager. To the right of the main building is a breezeway leading to their outdoor beer garden. Oh, it is a charming secluded space with plenty of tables, several large umbrellas, and a large shade tree. Festive bunting is strung overhead, and the space is just perfect. Friendly waitstaff hurries to provide beer and food, and my server spoke English which made things easier for me. At the back of their patio is a walkup service window for the staff. Inside is a second service bar which promptly provides pints and bottles of beer. The two buildings and a fence as the third wall create and enclosed space that is tranquil and inviting. I made a reservation for 10 people on Google as I usually do.when we arrived there we were met by an employee named Vitali who enquired whether we had made a reservation. I showed him my reservation on my phone, he proceeded to scroll through his phone while shaking his head. I managed to spot my name on his phone.I proceeded to show him on his phone so as not to go through the head shaking motions. To my utter surprise he suddenly forced his palm at my face whilst clutching his phone to his chest as if to suggest that I had invaded his space. I was taken aback and my clients immediately reacted in astonishment at Vitali's manner and aggressive behavior. After an uncomfortable time he finally found my reservation and showed my party to a table. To my surprise one of the female staff approached me to enquire whether I had a reservation I once again showed her my reservation on my phone.whuch she found on her phone...Vitali..... You with you poor behavior ensured that will find another restaurant to entertain my clients in future..shame on the owners of the Brauhaus for employing emotionally unintelligent employees such as Vitali to receive guests.....no more Brauhaus for me...after 12 years of...
