SAKAMAR Asian Fusion Kitchen — Restaurant in Oberursel

We ordered some take out from here earlier in April and the restaurant had been recently revamped.

Now considering I am a regular diner of sushi/Japanese food and have lived in Japan, I am familiar with the cuisine and I understand how expensive it can be outside of Japan. So when it is worth it, I am willing to dish out the money for a high-quality dining experience.

As much as I liked the flavour and combinations the portion size is not very big and add to that it is very expensive.

Perhaps the dining experience on location is different, but after waiting for our food, picking it up and then bringing it home and unpacking it, I really was not impressed.

For example, I think these were the tuna tacos (see photo) - there’s three of them and they are very small. How much did we pay for them - €14! So think about it each tiny morsel cost me €4.67 each.

I know I live in Oberursel but sorry I’m not part of the wealthy, delusional club in this town that is silly enough to pay this kind of money for so-so food and so-so portions. Don’t get me wrong - I’m not asking for an American sized portion, but just something in the middle.

This sushi restaurant is now my favorite restaurant in town. The atmosphere is really cozy and comfortable. The service is friendly and warm. I felt so relaxed there and the sushi was great!! Including the presentation was impressive. Great place to go on a date with your loved one, have a nice dinner with a friend, or have a work dinner. Very classy and stylish. I could really recommend the sakamar sushi roll, it was absolutely delicious. I even went back a second time a few days later because I was craving it. 🙈😅...

Es scheint so, dass es diesem Restaurant zu gut geht. Ich hatte nun den dritten negativen Vorfall. Das erste Mal gab es angeblich keinen Tisch im Restaurant. Und nun ist es mir zum zweiten Mal passiert, dass man kein Sushi zum mitnehmen bestellen konnte. Obwohl das Restaurant fast leer war und vor mir gerade zwei Damen im Gastraum Platz genommen haben, wurde mir gesagt man könne mir kein Sushi zum mitnehmen machen, da man einen großen Catering-Auftrag nach Frankfurt hätte. Auf die Frage, wenn man sich nun ins Restaurant setzt würde man doch auch Essen bekommen, wieso man dann nicht auch zum mitnehmen bestellen kann, kam als Antwort: man hätte heute nur einen Koch. Daraufhin wieder die Frage wieso man im Restaurant aber Essen bekommt? Da wurde der Herr an der Theke ungeduldig: Das wäre halt so. Fazit = Kunden mit Bestellungen zum mitnehmen sind wohl nicht nicht erwünscht. Ziemlich Kunden-unfreundlicher Umgang! Nachtrag: Warum hat man dann nicht am Eingang ein Schild angebracht - Heute nur warme Küche- ? Ebenfalls hatte ich auch nicht gesagt was ich bestellen möchte und ich wurde nicht gefragt ob es nur etwas warmes sein darf! Es ging immer nur um das große Catering und man hätte nur einen Koch! Deshalb gibt es nichts...
