Ong Tao Oberursel — Restaurant in Oberursel

I have been here twice since they opened. During the second time (dinner), the dish was better than the first. I love Vietnamese food and am thrilled to have another option of non-German food in Oberursel. The food was fresh and delicious. Summer rolls and bun were fantastic. The service was great. We will definitely go back. While the prices are a little high, I don't mind paying for good food. Something that is often hard to find out here. The reason for my 4 stars, instead of 5, is I asked for leitungswasser on a hot summer day after we ordered beer and one of their homemade drinks (also amazing), and they told me they couldn't serve me leitungswasser, I'm happy to pay 50 cents to drink the fantastic Oberursel tap water. A few other places in town will do this, and it's a wonderful way to help the environment. We will still return...

Was here in the winter holidays for some lunch. I have ordered takeaway from here before and also eaten at their Frankfurt location. I thought it would be quiet on a Monday, but it wasn’t at all! There were lots of drop ins and also some big groups.

I ordered the pho with beef and it was very delicious and filling. Also it’s perfect for the cold weather. Will definitely come back again.

Also take note when you order the soup takeaway it does seem smaller as they have to pack the noodles, soup and toppings in...

Das Ong Tao in Oberursel ist ein stilvoll eingerichtetes vietnamesisches Restaurant, das mit einem modernen, zugleich warmen Ambiente überzeugt. Die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll, mit viel Liebe zum Detail, und schafft eine angenehme Atmosphäre, die zum Verweilen einlädt. Auch der Service war bei unserem Besuch freundlich und aufmerksam.

Das Essen insgesamt ist sehr gut – vor allem die Pho-Suppen und die Vorspeisen wie Sommerrollen oder Bao Buns stechen geschmacklich hervor. Frische Zutaten, aromatische Brühen und eine ansprechende Präsentation zeigen hier die hohe Qualität der Küche. Wer authentisch vietnamesisch essen möchte, ist hier grundsätzlich gut aufgehoben.

Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen waren allerdings die Wok-Gerichte. Im Vergleich zum restlichen Angebot wirkten sie etwas lieblos zubereitet. Der Reis war kaum angebraten, eher weich und geschmacklich blass, es fehlte an Röstaromen und Würze. Das Gemüse war zwar knackig, aber das Gesamtgericht hatte nicht das Aromaprofil, das man sich bei einem Wok-Gericht erwarten würde.

Insgesamt aber ein sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant mit hochwertiger vietnamesischer Küche. Wer Wert auf Atmosphäre und authentische Suppengerichte legt, ist hier genau richtig – bei den Wok-Gerichten besteht noch etwas...
