The Bulldog - City — Restaurant in Osnabrück

I came here again because the staff were very nice last time. However, today was unfortunately quite disappointing. I can understand some delays since the restaurant was about half full.

We arrived at 17:30 and only got our food an hour+ later. Sadly, my burger was cold when it arrived, so I couldn’t really enjoy it. So i exchanged it with my husband and i eat his Stew.

In my opinion, the flexibility could be improved: I am pregnant and cannot drink alcohol. There is a “Tuesday Offer” with extra fries and beer. I asked if the beer could be exchanged for water – not possible. I asked if it could simply be served without beer – also not possible. So the beer came, but no one could drink it. My husband ended up drinking it, even though he wasn’t allowed to have alcohol either because he was sick. I was very hungry from waiting so long that I developed stomach discomfort and couldn’t finish the stew. I asked if I could take the rest home, but unfortunately that wasn’t possible because they said they don’t have packaging. This was confusing, since normally you can order food to take away, so why not pack leftovers?

Best burgers I had in my entire visit to Europe in October! I visited this location at least twice and both times loved it very much. The burgers were excellent, always cooked to order as I liked, and the toppings and flavors were out of this world! I find myself craving the burgers from here while I am back in America again. I definitely intend to visit again when I'm in the area again.

The chai latte with small cookie was also very delicious and I was happy to see my boyfriend, local to the area, has since ordered the chai latte for himself after I returned home, since he tasted mine when I was visiting him.

The only negative is that there was not an English menu so when I wanted to try other items off the menu it was hard to understand what was on something I wanted to order. Zuerst einmal läßt sich über Geschmack gut und gerne streiten, daher ist dies nur meiner eigenen Geschmacksnerven zu entnehmen, was ich vom Essen bei The Bulldog halte. Der Standort selbst ist gut gewählt. Innenstadt, das Parkhaus direkt gegenüber und in einem Neubau ebenerdig integriert. Das Lokal hat ein uriges, recht gemütliches und eben amerikanisches Ambiente. Die Wartezeit von Bestellung zum Auftischen der Speise, fand ich trotz des sehr gut besuchten Lokals als relativ human. Bedienung selbst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Bis jetzt lief es gut und nun kommen ebenhalt meine Geschmacksnerven ins Spiel und da muß ich zugeben, waren diese enttäuscht. Die sehr vielen positiven Rezensionen hatten mich eigentlich mit meinen Jungs zu diesen gang ins The Bulldog bewogen. Da ich klein anfangen wollte gab es den Cheeseburger mit dazugehöriger Pommes, leider gab es nur Pommes zur Auswahl, keine anderen amerikanische Kartoffelspezialitäten. Merkwürdig. Das Fleisch selbst gab es in zwei Varianten, mittelmäßig gut durch und relativ noch blutig - muß mich entschuldigen da ich die beiden Namen dafür nicht mehr im Sinne habe - habe die erste Variante gewählt, gut so. Die zweite Variante von den Jungs war innen doch noch sehr blutig, habe ich so von Hack eigentlich noch nie so in dieser Form gekannt. Man lernt halt nie aus. Da der Cheeseburger mich nicht sättigte, hatte ich mir noch als Abschluß ein Hotdog ausgesucht und zwar mit Sauerkraut und den üblichen Zutaten. Meine Abschlußkritik geht nun leider dahin, das beide Gerichte ok waren, schwach bis kaum gewürzt und für den Preis relativ wenig an Materialien. Satt geworden bin ich nicht, aber um eine Erfahrung reicher. Nun zerreißt mich mal in der Luft, denn McDonalds oder Bürger King schmecken nicht schlechter, sind aber um einiges billiger, aber The Bulldog ist durch die rein natürlichen Zutaten sicherlich gesünder.
