This restaurant is overrated. I do not agree that it should be in a 4.0+ rating. It should be 3 or less.
If you've had real Thai food, then you will know where this restaurant lacks, and how it takes advantage of the customer's ignorance. When a friend and I visited this place for lunch, we didn't entirely get the order we asked for. My friend never got the curry she ordered, which was the entree by the way. So she just didn't get to eat anything beyond soup and an appetizer. I, at least, got everything I asked for except for the soup. The soup was not what we ordered; instead, it was more like the soup of the day. So if you wanted the specific meal you asked for, if it isn't already prepared, then they're not going to serve it to you. They're going to give you what's already made, and hope you're too ignorant to know that you didn't get the Thai dish you wanted.
After our meal, I was hoping the waitress would return so I could order dessert, but they never came around again. They avoided us, and we took that as the time to leave.
The food they served us was good, but it wasn't what we ordered and the order wasn't complete. We never complained or said anything. This restaurant gave me the impression that if we did, they would probably just spit in our food or not care anyway.
I wouldn't come here expecting service like you might get at any other Thai restaurant or any other restaurant period. If you don't know actual Thai food, then you might be content with what you get. But this restaurant will serve you whatever and claim it's that dish when it isn't. So be warned.
I cannot recommend this place. I believe you will find fulfillment elsewhere. Now, this could be due to a change of management, or who knows? There are plenty of positive reviews here, but this is me giving a review for the current month and year. This is me reviewing my exact experience eating at this restaurant for the first time.
My recommendation to the restaurant is that if you are only serving what's already made, then have a menu that states what's already prepared. Don't give the customer the choice to pick whatever food or soup when you only have one kind of soup prepared and a few entrees. Instead, call it "Soup of the Day." Instead, have a mini menu that states what's...
Read moreIt saddens me to give this place a 3 star because the reviews had me so convinced that it was going to be amazing. I was sadly disappointed. First when I place my order over the phone the lady was rude and was trying to rush me off the phone. I had to tell her to stop and listen to me so she can get my order correct. 15 mins later I get there to pick up my food and like I do whenever I place an order to go I check my food. She then proceeded to give me even more attitude for checking my food. In regards to the food my husbands pad see ew was full of flavor and the 3 star spice level was there. It was great. My daughter loved her chicken skewers. My pad Thai was the driest and tasteless pad Thai I’ve ever had. I pretty much had oily noodles with no flavor. I asked for 2 star spicy level and I didn’t receive that. The. Only reason I gave this place 3 stars and would try it again is because my families food was what it was suppose to be.
New review I had originally rated this place a 3 star and that’s well what it deserved because of what was stated above. Gave it a second chance because my husband was dying for some Thai food and to my surprise they got it right. My food was cooked to perfection and full of flavor, mind you we decided to dine in instead of take out. The portions are enough for leftovers. The spice was just right. And it was served hot and fast. The lady still had an attitude and was rude so that’s why I didn’t give it a 5 star rating. I would recommend this place to get a Thai fix if you don’t mind a little rudeness...
Read moreUPDATE In the two years after I posted this review, Thai Thai has expanded into another restaurant, and unfortunately, the expansion somehow lowered the quality of their food. The food is bland, and the serving size has gone down too. I rated it as a 4-star in the first review, but it is now 3-star at best. If you're looking for a Thai fix, this restaurant will serve. If you're looking for a good Thai fix, you will probably have to keep looking. UPDATE
This restaurant's food is simply fantastic. It was recommended to us multiple times when we got here and I can see why -- great tasting food (must try the massaman curry), generous amount of serving, and good price.
The decor of the restaurant is your typical mom-and-pop restaurant, nothing too spectacular.
The service is a bit of a hit-or-miss, mainly because the servers are Thai and most of them have trouble communicating in English (not sure about their German...) Also, when we were there we asked them if they accept VAT forms, the server said yes but then the boss lady said no... so at the end of the day, not sure if they do or don't.
All in all, if you're looking for fantastic Thai food, you'd be hard pressed to do better than this restaurant... you just have to look past some of the...
