Woah, this place is amazing!! After exploring Salzburg, then hiking around Königssee, we were very, very hungry. We stumbled upon this place and we are glad we did. It is a super cozy place with excellent service and fantastic food. When we went it was the day before Christmas, and the Heute was decorated festevly. Our waitress was very friendly and had a smile the whole time. The food and beer was amazing. The bathrooms were also very clean as well. The whole experience was unreal. What a nice surprise! While al the other restaurants near the lake were super expensive and not offering satisfactory service, we found this one on our way back from a hike. It’s close to the parking place (~5-min walk) and has a great view over the mountains (and the got “farm” haha). It’s a rustic place with so many traditional dishes! We had a Sauerkraut Spätzle and drank for the very first time in our life Almdudler, the popular herb soft drink from Austria. We couldn’t leave without eating a portion of Kaiserschmarl, of course - which was warm and delicious. Definitely a must for lunch in Schönau...

We passed by this traditional restaurant after doing the Malerwinkel hiking tour and we were fascinated by the wooden and lovely design of this place. So we decided to stop for a cappucino and we did not regret it. Although the prices we saw on the menu were a bit elevated, we felt that it was totally reasonable given its touristic location.
