Seealm Königsee — Restaurant in Schönau am Königssee

The food itself is superb - I ordered a BBQ pork rib burger which comes with fries - it is very delicious and big portion.

Just find it weird for how the waiter greeted me. I told him I am from Hong Kong, and he greeted me in Mandarin Chinese ("ni hao" & "xie xie"). While I appreciate his effort to greet customers in their local language, he actually got it wrong as Hongkongers' native language is Cantonese instead of Mandarin, and I know some Hongkongers do feel offended when being greeted in Mandarin.

Another weird moment was he actively asked whether I would like to tip when I paid the bill - as far as I know the German tipping culture is rather subtle and it is rare for waiters to ask for a tip actively. It definitely felt...

The smell drew us in! We had plans to eat at another establishment, but when walking by we had to stop. We wanted the steak we were smelling, but the place was full and we did not have a reservation. No worries, the waiter explained that both the pizzeria and the steakhouse are connected... treated like one place... and we got seated upstairs in the pizzeria. Awesome decor, friendly staff, and delicious food! We wanted the steak, but also envied the wonderful looking pizza some of the other customers...

Horrible service, mediocre food at best. Definition of tourist trap. To make matters worse, fellow diners had food allergies, and despite assurances from the service staff that this would be accounted for, when the food arrived, this was most certainly not the case. A request to return the food was met with incredulity and excuses that it was our fault....
