Happy Rancho — Restaurant in Schleswig

Pleasant place and generous menu. I found this place on a map and thought to check it out. The locatin of the restaurant is very nice. It is near a plaza and there is a parking location not far away. You can combine a lunch or a dinner with a tour to the surrounding location. I ordered the local beer "Flensburger Pilsener" which was a ligth beer but a little bitter. For the main course, I've ordered the "Grillteller" which is a mixed grill. It includes a pork cutlet, a nice piece of bacon, and two pork steaks. The meat is accompanied by fries, rice, and some veggies. Steak restaurant in Schleswig off the main Street. Place looks more like a two story house that was converted to a restaurant. Lower flor with around 10 tables and upper flor heaving two large rooms with more 10 tables each. Very simple decore and tables what influences the place atmosphere. Large selection of starters, main and salads. Grilled meat selection is also very nice and with resonable prices. Tried the rump stake, 220 gr., that comes with pomes. Update 16.11. Irgendwas ist anders... Der Service ist nicht so aufmerksam wie man es gewohnt ist. Es kommt niemand zwischendurch und fragt, ob alles OK ist. Nachbestellen von Getränken nur schwer möglich. Die Kommunikation ist eher lahm und emotionslos.

Das Essen war aber wie gewohnt sehr gut. Aber sind die Portionen kleiner geworden?

Es war mal wieder schön im Happy Rancho!

Wir haben uns kurzfristig entschieden Essen zu gehen, also haben wir direkt morgens dort angerufen um einen Tisch zu reservieren. Ich hatte eigentlich keine große Hoffnung so früh jemanden zu erreichen. Als jemand ran ging und bestätigte, dass wir noch einen Tisch draußen für 4 Personen bekommen, war die Freude groß. Kaum angekommen und dort angemeldet saßen wir schon am Tisch. Getränke haben wir dann sehr schnell bei einem netten Herren bestellt und bekommen. Die Essenbestellung ging kurz danach raus und die Wartezeit war angemessen. Zur Speisekarte: Sie ist übersichtlich, im Sinne der Lesbarkeit. Auch ältere Personen können sie gut lesen. Die Auswahl ist sehr gut, auch die bei den Getränken sollte jeder was finden. Bei uns kam Lamm, Hähnchen und gefülltes Rumpsteak auf den Tisch mit den verschiedensten Beilagen wie Pommes, Kroketten und Bratkartoffeln. Alles hat perfekt geschmeckt, und die Portionen waren ebenfalls sehr gut. Das Personal hat regelmäßig nach gesehen, ob alles in Ordnung war. Rundum war es ein gelungener Aufenthalt.
