Lamäng — Restaurant in Soest

After all the times we visited this restaurant, this time we had a very disappointing experience.

As food lovers we know how a ceaser Salad should look and taste. Yet as can be seen in the photo, this is not a Caesar salad. 16,90€ for what can be seen in the photo, way too expensive! For reference, we asked for it without chicken and onions(!)

Overall, everything we ordered was not as expected.

The Tomato soup tasted bland, the pizza margarita was undercooked and spicy, and the mushroom pasta was way too creamy.

The only thing we could enjoy was the “Mediterranean Flammkuchen” here, we asked if they could put salmon on it instead of speck, but even that, they could not do.

We asked them what they did differently this time around, and they mentioned that they have a new owner and they have increased the prices.

Unfortunately we did not get what we paid for.

We wil try something new in Soest...

Had the pleasure of having an english breakfast there I should have realise when it said scrambled eggs and ham, when it arrived it look very sad it was one egg scrambled with a slice of ham fried together small leaf of lettuce and cucumber and tomato 2 grapes and a slice of orange oh and a roll and butter Don't know if the owner has ever tried an English breakfast but that what we got was an American style one.It was definitely not worth the money. what we got for that price was not worth it so please stop calling it an English breakfast. We have had a few English style breakfasts in Germany and this one the saddest one I have ever seen, definitely not...

Besucht am 31.5.25, Frühstück um 9 Uhr, 6 Erwachsene. (Dies ist eine Überarbeitung einer Rezension aus 2023, siehe weiter unten).

Die aktuelle Bewertung gibt (leider) nur noch 3 Sterne her. Nach dem Betreiberwechsel gibt es das Frühstück nunmehr nur noch als Buffet (also SB).

Speisen: ... haben nicht mehr den Anspruch von früher. Einfachste Brötchen, ansonsten "von allem was da", soweit noch okay.

Preis: Mit 17 Euro/Person doch schon etwas höherpreisig. Eben nichts für "alle Tage". Dafür ist Kaffee, O-Saft und Sekt inbegriffen. Ja..... die Sache mit dem Kaffee..... führt zum nächsten Punkt:

Service: Alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und aufgeschlossen. Allerdings hat es bei uns wohl mit der Kommunikation nicht recht geklappt. Da wir nach Betreiberwechsel erstmals Buffet-mässig dort waren, fragten wir, ob Getränke inbegriffen sind. Zur Antwort kam : " Kaffee ist drin, Cappuccino oder ähnliches kostet extra." Da wir zu dem Zeitpunkt noch draussen saßen, haben wir 4 Kaffee bestellt und 2 Cappuccino. Das wurde uns kommentarlos gebracht, und weil das so gut lief, haben wir noch ein paar Kaffee mehr geordert. NUR: zum Schluss sollten wir diesen Kaffee bezahlen, weil er eben nicht vom Buffet war, das wäre ein anderer Kaffee. Das "Kaffee drin" bezogen sich also räumlich, also auf drinnen IM Gebäude, und nicht, dass er "im Preis drin ist". Puuh..... Nach einigem Hin und Her haben wir uns darauf geeinigt, dass wir nur die Hälfte Kaffee zahlen, das gibt für den Service dann doch 4 Sterne.

Also: VORHER genauestens hinterfragen. 😀

Ob wir wiederkommen? Mhh........

Mehrfach besucht, zuletzt 27.05.23. 2 Personen, Mittags.

Bisher keine "Hänger", Essen immer lecker und ausreichend bei angemessenen Preisen.

Service beim letzten Besuch richtig klasse ! Freundlich / höflich,...
