Can't cook pasta. Tried this place twice, not sure why everything is super dente. Risotto, tortellini, all hard. And don't even bother asking for a check, it takes longer to make than the food. Waited over 20 minutes after asking for the check multiple times... While in the cold. Typical customer service for the country, which is completely lacking I wanted to walk out because obviously they don't care and I shouldn't have to pay after being held hostage Open random hours/days. Used to be our favorite Italian restaurant in Stuttgart! The food is still good, but the service went way downhill since covid.

Waited for over an hour for pasta (!) - our neighbors did too, so it wasn't just us. And they brought me the wrong dish... so I had to wait some more (not too long, I have to admit) for the right item. Then we had to ask for the bill four times - and finally got it more than half an hour later...

And no word of apology, either.

Wir besuchen das Restaurant Pulcinella in Stuttgart-Birkach seit nun über zehn Jahren – und bisher war es immer ein kleiner, kulinarischer Ausflug nach Italien, den wir genossen haben. Doch unser jüngster Besuch, anlässlich meines Geburtstags, wird uns leider aus den falschen Gründen in Erinnerung bleiben. Als unser fünfähriger Sohn es wagte, auf der Terrasse einen Stuhl zu verrücken, wurden wir sogleich mit der Dringlichkeit eines Ordnungsamtmitarbeiters etwas befremdlich darauf hingewiesen, doch bitte leiser zu sein. Das wäre ja noch zu verkraften gewesen, wenn man uns nicht anschließend, nach einer kurzen Diskussion über Kinder und Lautstärke, subtil nahegelegt hätte, das Restaurant zu verlassen – wohl gemerkt, weil kleine Kinder anscheinend eine unüberhörbare Zumutung darstellen. So etwas würde in Bella Italia, wo Kinder fast heilig sind, natürlich nie passieren. Wer italienische Gastfreundschaft sucht, ist hier vermutlich nicht besonders gut aufgehoben. Für gestresste Senioren ist es aber sicher eine idyllische Oase der Ruhe. Schade, dass ein Ort, den wir so lange geschätzt haben, uns an einem besonderen Tag so...
