I had a nice lunch here! The highlight is the wide selection of interesting cake slices, plus they have other baked goods like pretzels and croissants, and a few quiches. Coffee and tea too. The people working were really sweet and patient with my bad German. I ordered at the counter, but once I told them I was dining in, they asked me to take a seat and they came to my table to ask if I wanted a drink and to bring my food once the quiche had been heated, and came back to take payment once I was finished - very attentive service! I ordered a Gemüse Quiche (veggie quiche with carrots and broccoli) and a slice of Fehmarnsche Schichtentorte (marzipan raspberry layer cake). The quiche was stuffed with carrots, which I liked, and the egg base was mild and creamy. The airiness of the cake and whipped frosting was nice with the rich marzipan. Sometimes vanilla cakes are too plain for me but the marzipan coating added a complexity that made this one very enjoyable for me. The place is nice, with a good selection, but the service really threw me off. The young women were friendly and polite, but the elderly lady's behaviour was shockingly rude. When I asked politely for the bill, she almost shouted 'one moment' and seemed to ignore me completely. Then, when it was time to pay the bill of €11.10 I told her I would give her €1.10 to avoid too many coins (having €20 cash) she completely ignored me and gave me back the change in coins without acknowledging my request. She also told me she had no time and even had the nerve to ask me for a tip. Absolutely disgraceful! Awful...
