• Terrible service each time we visited, food is not bad, decent beer. • Non-Germans AVOID this place and beware, as soon as they find out you're not local, they treat you like garbage.

• I was visiting Tübingen for a business trip and was recommended this place for their local brews, which are not too bad. The food is okay as well, nothing special.

• What is absolutely atrocious, however, is their service. The first time we came, it took them nearly 20 minutes to even notice us and bring us menus/ask us if we wanted beer. And all that after we approached the waiter ourselves, not the other way around. Next round of beers took a long time to arrive and when we finally got a small appetizer, they never cleared it off the table when we were done, just let the dirty plates sit there. The worst was yet to come during paying. We kept wanting to pay, but nobody would notice us. It was not busy at all and we were NOT hidden in the corner. We actually were seated right in front of the bar and it seemed they deliberately avoided us. My corporate card wasn't working properly at the register and the waiter, instead of politely telling me that or asking for a different card, threw the declined receipt on the table and acted extremely rudely.

• The second visit was even worse. That time I visited with people that spoke German, so no way for the guy (same rude guy as our first visit) to be able to tell we were tourists. The food was good and beers kept coming, a pleasant service, until I wanted to pay and showed him an American card. The waiter's mood and treatment of us was a complete 180° change. He started off politely and turned into the same rude person from night before. The card didn't work properly again (despite me contacting the bank) and the waiter, instead of politely asking for another card, just threw the card on the table saying it doesn't work. Yes, THREW it back, not even handing it back to me. I don't think expecting polite and respectful service is that much to wish for, but throwing my card back on the table and getting angry is not a way to treat people. I ended up speaking to the manager, who just looked terrified of what had happened. He didn't say he will talk to the ride employee, nor did he offer me a discount or anything. This is a town where people come for business and if your employees clearly cannot treat guests with respect, then you will never see me again here. I will gladly take my money where it is appreciated.

This was one of the worst experiences in a restaurant I have ever seen. Even if my card didn't work 6 times, it doesn't cost them anything to try it again. I wonder if he even run the transaction properly, because my other card worked even without a PIN. But if you act condescending to guests and throw their card back towards them, then you won't have happy patrons coming...

Vegan/Vegetarische: Das Restaurant bietet eine große Produktvielfalt an vegetarischen Produkten. Insgesamt gibt es sieben vegetarische Hauptgerichte auf der Speisekarte, die alle sehr ansprechend klingen. Bei den veganen Hauptspeisen sind nur zwei vorzufinden. Obwohl es ein schwäbisches Restaurant ist, werden überraschenderweise viele vegetarischen Speisen angeboten. Da ich das Restaurant auch früher schon besucht habe, kann ich sagen, dass das vegetarische Sortiment zunehmend ausgebaut und vielfältiger wird. Das Verhältnis von vegetarisch/veganen Speisen und fleischhaltigen Speisen ist aber erfreulich und ich war positiv überrascht. Da die veganen und vegetarischen Speisen in der Speisekarte ein extra Kategorie haben, waren sie schnell zu finden und die Kennzeichnung von Allergen war ebenfalls vorhanden. Die veganen/vegetarischen Speisen sind zwar etwas billiger als die Fleischgerichte, trotzdem sollte man den Preis meiner Meinung nach noch etwas anpassen, dass man sich öfter für eine vegetarischen Speise entscheidet.

Speisekarte: Die Speisekarte ist sehr übersichtlich und man findet sich gut zurecht. Die vegetarischen und veganen Speisen sind gut gekennzeichnet und haben jeweils eine eigene Kategorie. Sowohl die Speise-, die Gruppen-, und die Tageskarte sind online einsehbar und es gibt sogar eine extra Allergiker Speisekarte auf Anfrage. Zudem gibt es dort selbstgebrautes Bier, welches ebenfalls zu empfehlen ist.

Essen: Ich habe mich für einen vegetarischen Flammkuchen entschieden, der wirklich sehr lecker und zu empfehlen war. Da ich das Restaurant schon öfters besucht habe, weiß ich, dass auch andere vegetarische Speisen dort sehr zu empfehlen sind. Die Qualität des Essens ist sehr hochwertig und laut Speisekarte werden auch viele regionale erzeugte Zutaten verwendet. Die Portion war mehr als ausreichend und es war kein Problem, den Rest einpacken zu lassen. Die Preise sind zwar etwas höher, aber trotzdem noch im Rahmen. Seit der Corona Pandemie ist es auch möglich, dass Essen zum Mitnehmen zu bestellen.

Eigene Empfehlung Insgesamt würde ich das Restaurant weiterempfehlen, da sowohl das Essen, die Lage und das Ambiente sehr zufriedenstellend sind. Die Anzahl an vegetarischen Produkten ist schon sehr hoch und wird auch zunehmend vielfältiger. Bei den veganen Produkten ist die Anzahl geringer, aber immerhin finden sich zwei vegane Produkte in der Speiskarte. Trotzdem wäre hier noch eine Erweiterung wünschenswert. Da die vegetarischen Speisen aber sehr vielfältig sind und zudem noch sehr lecker schmecken, kann ich es nur empfehlen, dass Restaurant einmal zu besuchen. Es lohnt sich!

Dabei sollte man die vegetarischen Produkte einmal probieren. Wie gesagt, sind diese etwas billiger als die Fleischgerichte, trotzdem wäre es besser, wenn man den Preis der vegetarischen und veganen Gerichte noch etwas senkt, damit auch Leute, die normal gerne Fleisch essen, einmal die vegetarischen/veganen Alternativen ausprobieren. Greifen sie doch auch einmal zu einer veganen oder vegetarischen Speise. Dadurch die Wahl von vegetarischen/veganen Speisen kann man seinen ökologischen Fußabdruck und somit seine CO2 Bilanz reduzieren. Das Umweltstatistikamt zeigt, dass man durch eine vegetarische Ernährung eine deutlich geringen CO2 Verbrauch hat. Bei einer veganen Ernährung ist die CO2 Bilanz sogar noch niedriger. Somit belasten Fleischesser das Klima viel stärker. Daher wäre es doch schön, sich öfters mal für eine vegetarische Speise zu entscheiden und seinen Fleischkonsum zu...

The food was great, and the atmosphere, with the brewery inside and the river outside, was fantastic. However, the server’s insistence on a tip (even though he didn't serve us alone) and his attitude after we didn’t tip left a really bad impression. The service was also not flawless. For example, he forgot a second set of silverware for the dessert, even though we specifically asked for it.

Overall, it was a great restaurant, but the server's attitude at the end was unacceptable. When I wished him a good evening (I wasn’t the one paying the bill), he responded with 'Thanks for the tip' in an ironic tone, which left a "Gschmäckle".

After my review I got immediately contacted by the restaurant or rather was asked to contact them, They assured me that we did nothing wrong and they do not want their staff to act like that. I hope it was a one off and up'd my review to 4 stars (11 / 3 is 3.6 anyways) to better reflect the great food...
