We stayed two nights at the Auerhahn for a wedding and looked forward. But the service was a great disappointment. We are used to good service almost whereever we stay in Germany, but all staff at the Auerhahn was very hong people who either didn't understand the concept of good service or couldn't be bothered. When we arrived we we surprised that a foreigner wouldn't be welcomed with "did you have a nice trip" "good evening nice to have you" or the like. It was fill this form and here is the key, instead. Later I asked for an iron and a Iron board. After some time they finally found a iron but no iron board. I asked again next morning, but the answer was "we receive our staff uniforms ironed" ???? I then answered that I tought it was a hotel and that I as a guest would be able to Iron my clothes before the wedding. None of the young people seems to be able to take a decision but "the boss would arrive at 11.00"...and we were of for the wedding at 1030.||There was always enough food at the morning buffet, which was arranged pretty early and just sat there until the bread arrived at 0800. Nice hotel but with a total lack of service and eye for details.Furthermore WIFI didn't work in the rooms, only in...

Read moreWe went to the Auerhahn for Sylvester. They asked to be there at the regular German time to eat dinner: 6.30PM which was way too early. The menu consisted in a soup, a salad and a main dish, which were all nice, especially the meat. Followed by a very disappointing dessert, which had no taste and seemed like an ice you buy for 1 euro piece. Price point of the beverages were quite high for a restaurant lost in the Schwarzwald which was already asking 125e/person for a 4-courses menu. The wait staff was great though. The diner ended around 10.30PM… there was no animation what so ever, we’ve already been there for 4 hours, we went home. Underwhelming and overpriced. Probably should have gone to the...
