We picked this hotel by chance for a stay of 4 nights and were delighted when we saw the wattle-and-daub building in the middle of the old part of Eberbach. Located at a beautiful small place surrounded by linden trees which is lively during the day and quiet at night, it is really seducing. We had a charming room under the roof which had everything necessary. The bathroom however is not made for tall people: My husband (6 ft 1'') could not take a shower standing upright and even for me (5 ft 8'') it posed quite a problem. ||The staff is very friendly and the food a very nice mixture of typically local and Mediterranean cuisine, complemented by a diverse wine list. ||The location of the hotel is perfect for discovering historic Eberbach and if you want to dine out, there are quite a few restaurants within a few minutes walking. ||||We recommend it for people who are not too tall and do not have difficulty climbing stairs, as there is - of course -...

Read moreStayed for 2 nights on a business trip and this was a lovely change from the normal, characterless business hotels I'm used to. The traditional looking building is lovely both inside and out with exposed beams in the rooms and a vaulted ceiling in the restaurant. Food was excellent: tasty and traditional German food, presented in a modern style, we particularly enjoyed sharing the flammkuchen between us as a starter. The place is family run and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful.||||The only things to be aware of are 1) don't rely on the wi-fi, this worked but was very slow (although this was a problem across Eberbach as far as I could tell) and 2) the bathroom being built into the sloping roof meant showering was a challenge for tall people. I'm 195cm and I had to perform contortions to get washed. This would not be very awkward/potentially dangerous if you were not fit...
