Das Restaurant Alte Post in Neckarsulm - eine Oase in der kulinarischen Wüste! Beruflich verbringe ich seit Jahren viel Zeit in Neckarsulm - und obwohl es in der Umgebung zahlreiche brauchbare Restaurants gibt, so ist die Alte Post doch mein zweites Zuhause. Das Restaurant befindet sich im Welcome Hotel direkt am Bahnhof, im liebevoll modernisierten und in das Hotel integrierten alten Postgebäude, daher der Name. Das Ambiente ist stilvoll und gemütlich, und auch auf der Außenterasse lässt es sich wunderbar sitzen und genießen. Doch nun zum wichtigsten - Essen und Service. Die Speisekarte ist hervorragend ausgewählt. Für jeden Appetit ist etwas dabei, und da Beste ist - alle Gerichte sind mit großer Kochkunst zubereitet. In den ganzen Jahren war ich oft dort, und wurde noch NIE enttäuscht. Alles ist auf den Punkt zubereitet, die Zutaten sind frisch und regional, und die Gerichte sind mit großer Liebe zum Detail angerichtet. Ein echtes Highlight gibt es nicht - es ist einfach alles hervorragend, besseres findet man weit und breit sehr selten. Zu diesem leckeren Essen bekommt man - was heute keine Selbstverständlichkeit ist - auch hervorragenden Service. Alle Mitarbeiter sind hervorragend geschult, freundlich und professionell, mehrsprachig und sorgen dafür, dass man sich stets willkommen und zu Hause fühlt. Restaurantchef Alex Hess führt auf den Schultern seiner Vorgänger ein hervorragendes Restaurant, das die Messlatte in der Region darstellt. Auch die Weinkarte ist ein Hingucker, und alle Mitarbeiter unterstützen gerne und mit großem Sachverstand bei der Auswahl des passenden Tropfens für jeden Gaumen.

Mein Gesamtfazit lautet: Eine unbedingte Empfehlung für alle, die gehobenes und entspanntes Fine Dining lieben - ein Erlebnis, das man sich, so man in der Region weilt, auf keinen Fall entgehen lassen sollte.

ENGLISH The Alte Post restaurant in Neckarsulm - an oasis in the culinary desert! Professionally, I have spent a lot of time in Neckarsulm for years - and although there are numerous viable restaurants in the area, I call Alte Post my second home. The restaurant is located in the Welcome Hotel right next to the train station, in the old post office building that has been lovingly modernized and integrated into the hotel, hence the name. The ambience is stylish and cozy, and the outdoor terrace is also wonderful to sit and enjoy.

But now to the most important part - food and service. The menu is excellently curated. There is something for each and every appetite, and the best thing is - all dishes are prepared with great culinary art. I have attended the restaurant many times over the years and have NEVER been disappointed. Everything is prepared to the point, from fresh and locally sourced ingredients, and all dishes are arranged with great attention to detail. There is no real highlight - everything is simply excellent, you´ll have a hard time trying to find any better dining experience is near and far. Along with the delicious food, you also receive - which is not a matter of course today - excellent service. All the staff are excellently trained, friendly and professional, multilingual and always make you feel welcome and at home. Maître Alex Hess runs an excellent restaurant, building on the shoulders of his predecessors, setting the fine dining benchmark in the region up and high with his work. The wine list is also a a delightful experience. All staff are happy to help you with great know-how and skill to find the right choice and treat you to the liquid delight that perfectly blends with your culinary experience.

My overall verdict: An absolute recommendation for all those who love upscale and relaxed fine dining - an experience that should not be missed whenever you are...

The restaurant is very nice, elegant and intimate. You can easily park at the hotel car park and give the ticket to the waiter since the parking is free for the guest of the restaurant.

The music is great too, not too loud so you can comfortably talk without having the impression that the people around you can hear you.

The food was really delicious and very well presented. We were very satisfied with the service as our waiter was quite attentive and friendly.

Alte Post is on the pricier side given that there are slightly cheaper restaurants that offer the same food/service quality. However, it is still perfect for some special occasions and we will definitely...

Schönes Ambiente.

Essen zur Hälfte lecker (für den sehr gehobenen Preis aber auch zu erwarten) - die Beilage aber teilweise ungenießbar und ging auf Rückfrage direkt zurück in die Küche.

Sollte dennoch auf Anweisung des Restaurantleiters voll berechnet werden.

Auf Grund des hohen Preises überwiegt der schlechte Service daher diese Bewertung und ich gehe mit einem schlechten Gefühl aus dem Restaurant - und werde auch nicht wieder kommen. Schade für die freundlichen Angestellten.

PS (auf die Antwort des Restaurants unten): Die 6€ (!) Wedges wurden mir mit folgenden Worten des Restaurantleiters erstattet: „Ich bin ein 5 Sterne Restaurantleiter und bitte dann darum, dass sie dieses Restaurant nicht wieder besuchen.“ Natürlich lautstark vor anderen Gästen.

Betonen möchte ich nochmal, dass es um verhältnismäßig lächerliche 6€ ging, aber vor allem die Kellner weiter freundlich waren, sich in anschließender Abwesenheit des Restaurantleiters noch entschuldigten und man sich gegenseitig freundlich verabschiedete.

Die Servicebewertung gebührt also dem respektlosen und abwertenden Verhalten des „Restaurantleiters“.
