I visited during lunch on a weekday and paid 15.90€ for lunch, which is fine for an all you can eat. All of the servers were really nice and the restaurant was pleasantly empty and quiet, so I got to enjoy my lunch in peace. I could even choose my table and the dishes came out of the kitchen within five to ten minutes after ordering, some even faster. The menu you could pick from was quite small. Let's start with the warm dishes: duck was great and didn't fall into pieces like in some other restaurants, spring rolls were good, so were the samosas. I also loved the sesame balls. Now to the sushi: Many of the sushi rolls were falling apart, maybe you can see in the pictures, especially the maki. I felt like there also wasn't a lot of fish in most of the rolls, except for the ones with canned tuna. So -1 star for that. The dissolving was really annoying, especially when dipping the sushi in soy sauce. Otherwise the place was clean and had a good ambiance. The only thing apart from the sushi that bothered me a bit were the high prices for drinks (for example nearly 3€ for 250 ml of water). So another -0.5 stars for that. All in all a great lunch experience I would...
Read moreThe food here is affordable, good and the waiters are quite nice too. The sushi is ok but not the best. The choices at the buffet are great for the fried foods and desserts, there's a lot and everybody can find something they like, even though there's only like 5 types of sushi (I felt like there was no intention of refilling things though, especially the sushi and sashimi was partially empty at some point). The restaraunt is usually quite empty and quiet, wich is nice. The grill is really disappointing, the meat for the grill is really low quality, especially the salmon tastes like fish sticks and the sauces they put on there taste like water with a drop of soy sauce. I'd recommend the all you can eat by tablet if you want sushi, but the buffet if you're not the...
Read moreI was invited by a German friend of mine to eat dinner in the great Asian Restaurant “Hokkaido” in Weil am Rhein, Germany, which is right next to Basel, Switzerland where I lived. It was a wonderful experience for me because they have a beautiful restaurant and provide super, friendly service. They have great Sushi and a wonderful grill. Plus, they have an All-you-can-eat Buffet which I love because it has a huge selection of great food, including Sushi, shrimp, salmon, vegetables, sweet-and-sour chicken, spring rolls, many desserts, etc. They also have a Take-Away. I can highly recommend the Asian Restaurant “Hokkaido” in Weil am Rhein for a great...
