Our worst experience as a family ever.
On Sunday, 17.09.17 we spent the day at Laguna. We live in Switzerland, 50 minutes away from Basel. We have 3 children, of 8, 10 years and 11 months. When leaving the pool at 17:30 my husband realize his locker was open and everything had been stolen - but for his shoes. That included his clothes, car keys, keys of the house, all family documents, credit cards, mobile phone and cash. The locker was not forced - and it was just below a security camera, what didn't seem to bother the burglars.
We had no money at all on us, no way to contact people, no extra keys to the house – not to mention my husband had no clothes but the swimming trunk. We reported to the personnel, but they were totally unprepared to manage this situation and their behavior was unbelievable, some indifferent, some suspicious, some rude. The police only came around 20:00. By 19:20 our kids were complaining they were hungry, we had no mean of payment, and we ask the front desk girl if she could give them anything from the restaurant before it closes. She answered, to our astonishment, I quote: “You never paid me a beer, why should I give you anything?”. My husband argued with her and she started shouting on us. From the beginning she was unfriendly and treated us as if it was our fault. The only person in the personnel that was attentive in the beginning, making the search in the locker room, just disappeared around 18:15 without a word. We only had help from some other customers - including to give my husband some clothes. After the police left we called a taxi and we were lucky to find our neighbor at home, who had a copy of our door key, otherwise we don't know what we would have done - and how to pay the taxi + hotel for the night.
Nobody in Laguna seemed to understand the trouble we were on. There was no manager or anybody that could answer for the business. They did not offer a phone, an internet connection, a place to stay while waiting for the police, clothes to my husband, a snack for the kids, any support for the baby (who was out of nappies and food). Any of this would come with almost no cost for them, but would save lots of stress for us. How can they see their client in such difficulties not provide, at least, a solution for transportation back home? Every visit to this place cost us 150 euros in entrance fee plus lunch, do they estimate the cost of loosing a client for good? We lost on that day around 750 euros (including 200 euros for the taxi back home). Not to mention the emotional stress and moral damages for the family. Hopefully the documents and keys were found and delivered to my husband by the police on the next day.
The administration claim they have no responsibility for property inside the lockers, but if customers cannot trust the lockers to store the car keys, their business is simply not feasible. We will never return...
Read moreSo, I'll start with the positives. First of all, I liked the food, it looked great and tasted great. I also liked the pools, they were clean, And despite the number of people, there was enough space to swim. The wave pool was also good. The staff were polite and nice. The only reason I gave it three stars was because of the slides. Firstly, on the blue hill where there are places to stand and take a rest, an incredible number of people gathered who collided with each other and this, in my opinion, is simply dangerous! There is no regulation The number of people on the slide! Also the second slide was also distinguished (the red one) There is a regulation of people, but the problem is that it only represents a light bulb, there is no one who would actually regulate how many people jump at one time! I saw four girls jump into this slide at the same time, although only one person could jump there, and the indicator that was supposed to show whether it was possible to jump worked with a Big delay! Another minus that I can note about the slides is that when I was going down the slide there was no pressure! This meant that I just got stuck halfway and tried to frantically Push yourself forward so that the next person doesn't crash into me! And the worst thing is that my mother went there and she has back problems, which is why the man and the child crashed right into her! Perhaps they specifically turned off the pressure so that people would not go down the slide. But then why weren't people sent there to tell them not to go down??? Although it is possible that there was a breakdown in the set and the staff simply noticed it too late, but in any case This is incredibly dangerous, I hope they...
Read moreThe infrastructure is well built, there are several indoor and outdoor pools, including spaces for kids. The place is kept clean all day long, and the two big slides are pretty cool. Other than that, the food experience was TERRIBLE. First we made the line for +45 minutes to order, directly at the counter. The menu options are limited and not at all healthy for kids (either low quality nuggets, pasta, or spicy currywurst). You might think for such a limited menu in which 80% of the food is frozen and deep fried, service would go fast, but this was not the case, and the crew didn’t seem at all bothered by having people standing in the line with little children over an hour to get served. When I was finally able to order, the person who fulfilled my order was unable to confirm if the beer I ordered was actually non-alcoholic. The meal was terrible to say the least. I’d suggest to bring your own meals and enjoy the outdoor seating instead of spending your money at...
