This is a wonderful small hotel run by the Sinz family whose roots in this ancient wine village go back to 1164. The quaint hotel is located on a residential street with lots of neighboring houses and not, as you might surmise from the website photo, in the middle of vineyards. However, it is VERY quiet once the last guests have left the very popular hotel restaurant. If you plan to have dinner there make sure you reserve a table in advance, as the restaurant was already fully booked on our Saturday evening arrival. The restaurant is obviously very popular with people throughout the area and specializes in regional dishes served with excellent local wines. Our room was located in a building across the street, named after the region's most popular grape - Riesling. The room was spacious, very modern and impeccably clean. The owner, Frau Sinz, as well as all of the staff were most friendly and we will surely return next time we are back...

Read moreThis turned out to be my favorite place to stay on this business/pleasure trip to Germany. it has wonderful accommodations. I think that my room was brand new or a couple of weeks old. The restaurant is very good. The breakfast is also very good, but I have to brag about the fillet of Flounder(Sole?) Fish on Black Noodles... oh was it wonderful. The owner carried my bags to the room. What a great guy. He bends over backwards to make your stay pleasant. There are a few more restaurants nearby in Frauenstein that I liked. This is wine country.
