If you're looking for a break from traditional German cuisine, I highly recommend checking out Nudelhaus Winterberg. Instead of schnitzels and pork knuckles, this restaurant specializes in pasta dishes. They offer a variety of options, including meat and fish dishes as well as vegetarian options. For starters and desserts, they have a buffet where you can try different items such as soup, salad, tiramisu, chocolate mousse, creme brulee, and vegan desserts.
For my main course, I had the Fettuccini with shrimp and Mediterranean vegetables in a tomato sauce, which was delicious. My husband went for the Penne with Argentine beef strips cooked in garlic and chili, and he loved it as well. The real standout, however, was the service. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and they made sure we had a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. We were seated in a cozy space, which added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant.
Overall, Nudelhaus Winterberg exceeded our expectations, and we're already planning to come back for more. If you're in the area and looking for a change of pace from typical German fare, this restaurant is definitely...
Read moreI cannot remember to have given 1 star, but for me this place deserved it in every sense. Short version: Nothing was hospitable, the waiter was actually rude and the pasta was a cheap and very cheesy. Very disappointing.
Arriving in the evening in a good mood, the waiter did not even look at us or make contact pointing a table out. As my compagnion has hearing aids we asked for another table that was available. This was impossible because he had to clean the other table and it had to dry (???). Without asking if we would like a drink he asked if we had made a choice .. we had to ask for a drink and would than make a choice. After this he passed our table like his relation had broke up and we had done it. The restaurant missed out on at least 2 meals, deserts and some wines as we did not have that mood anymore. Btw The restaurant is named pasta and wine, but the choice of wines if pretty limited and I could not notice...
Read moreAfter the response from the owner, I felt I needed to revise my rating. I'm very fair and understanding about the state of the industry and staffing shortages, but that does not excuse very mediocre service and very long waits. I'm not impatient after 10 minutes, but being seated on a table still dirty from the previous guest, waiting 30 minutes for a menu, then waiting again 30 minutes for the drinks is just not ok. You need to reduce your capacity then, or pay your employees more so you get more staff. Other competitive restaurants down the street do not have the same issues. It was ok. Due to staffing shortages they offer an appetizer and dessert buffet. The staff was very friendly but the waits were very long. The food is exclusive pasta, no other choices and no kids menu. The dessert menu was...
