Through appalling traffic and dropped off an a side street outside what looks like an unassuming African local bar with a rickety sign and a gate. But, inside is a Tardis. Large, a big bar and several differently decorated dining areas.several staff on a very quiet monday p.m. Bridget took us to the rear dining room decorated with all sorts of Africana with noce tables set up and v comfy leather cushioned chairs a varied menu with no particular single style or cusine. A small wine list. None of this was paricularyl dear after other recently visited places. A bottle of wonderful Piccini Memoro for 350gh and tapas starters. We had excellent meatballs with mediteranean veg and a rich, spicy tomatoey sauce. Lovely. Fluffy golden fried prawns, small but with a large battered coating and sweet chilli sauce. Side plate of garli and mayonnaise and vvspicy chilli dips. Some hummus , which was a bit less tasty than hoped for and a bowl of huge, thick, garlicky pita bread which was gorgeous and filling. So much so that we took two more starters . Garlic prawns in a gooey sauce and a steak and mango salad, minus the mango which was not available. Thid salad was not the best. Dried slices of steak with raw onion lettuce cucumber , sliced tomatoes and a few caramelised walnuts.|We nevet got to the mains or . deserts. Too full. Nice place, good food. I would guess the mains and desserts would be very decent....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor the past 8 years I am traveling to Accra more than 6 times a year... and no visit was without spending one (or more) evening (and more recently also lunch) at The Venue. Other reviews have already mentioned the atmosphere ||- Linda, Tony and their staff make you feel at home as soon as you open the door., no matter whether you are a first time visitor or a "regular" like me. ||- the setup and interior is warm (sorry.. i cannot describe it differently) ... and by itself calms you down from a hectic day as soon as you sit down at a table||||And then you open the menu... sure you came here to eat... and believe me... that part you will enjoy the most.||Absolutely fantastic food ... my kids favorite are the home made pizza, I love the beef platter and my wife never seizes to find a vegetarian favorite. If you can't decide... ask the "boss".. he will most likely suggest his own favorite, a Sole Fish the size you could not fit into your fridge.||Needless to say... the whole party enjoys one of the best places to eat in Accra.||||In my opinion, if you have visited Accra and missed eating at the Venue... book your next flight ASAP...you do not want...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a really nice place. The decor is very tasteful with many interesting pieces of art throughout to help create a very nice and pleasant ambience. The table settings and restaurant layout are well considered and presented and spotlessly clean. The staff are very friendly, helpful and extremely courteous. Now down to business, the menu contained a nice wide variety of dishes to my liking, i found myself spoilt for choice. The standard of the food was excellent and I feel reasonably priced for in particular the quality but also the quantity which was not lacking either. Depending on where you are travelling from you may experience some traffic delays getting to this location, so pick your time and plan your route, but definitely do not let this deter you, this place is well worth it. My compliments to the owners and management you have created a really excellent establishment for a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. I shall be returning to try some more of your wonderful menu options very shortly. Do yourself a favour and check this...
