High expectations sadly not fulfilled. Frozen chips. Fatty gyro meat. Frozen pizza. Countless wasps in and around the food that came back again and again and staff who seemed quite affronted that the kids seemed so distressed they couldn’t eat even to an extent that they approached them while I stepped to one side to take an urgent call to laugh and tell them ‘they won’t bite’. Who says that to children? Miserable staff sat on their phones as I chased to pay the bill as it was so woeful. Then we were charged for another person’s meal (honest mistake) but they seemed more upset that they had let a customer go without charging them correctly than apologising to us. Perfectly located taverna just outside the airport. If your flight is delayed (or you have enough time before you fly) then it's perfect for a pit stop and, considering the location, very reasonably priced. The food wasn't the best we had in Kefalonia but it certainly wasn't awful and better (and cheaper) than the equivalent airport meals. One thing to definitely note is that they allow you to leave your bags in the taverna during the day before you fly, thus giving you a bit of time to explore the surrounding area (e.g. Argostoli is only a short taxi ride away). It's a great idea and means you're not stuck killing time waiting for an evening flight after you've left your accommodation in the morning! They even have a pool! Overall, it's a hidden gem and well worth remembering if you're using...

This is not your average airport rip off joint, it's a really lovely bar restaurant. The beers are reasonably priced, the food is very good and the staff are wonderful.

I had a Cephalonia Omelette with chips which was as good an omelette as I've had anywhere on the island and they do damned good omelettes here.

I didn't use the clean and inviting pool but I have seen people do so on previous visits.

A perfect place to wait before you board for your flight, you won't have wasted your time arriving early and chilling here. In fact you should make a point of setting off early and spending and doing just that, especially if you're travelling with the kids.
