The only good things were the polite and respectful staff and the nice location, next to the little port. The prices are out of proportions, by far not getting what you pay for, (18€ one portion of octopus). So lets start with the food. Two salads one with shrimp and lemon dressing, overly acidic. The second, was just laughable, tomatoes with cheese and bread along with some olives. And the prices, dont even ask. How can that even be served like that. The fried calamari was very nice, juicy and not overly fried, the mayonnaise next to them is a mistake though.Potatoes are potatoes. The crab “salad” was horrible, using Surimi imitation crab and not the real thing, and pretty much drowned in mayonnaise, pretty much we just tried it and that was it. The dish with the octopus, had a misleading description on the menu ,mentioning being served with perls or caviar from eggplant, and as you see in the picture,it was just eggplant puree. Asking the waiter about it, he told us, i am just a waiter i dont know, the chef makes the menus… the fried zucchini were so oily that three people and we couldn’t finish one portion. The goat cheese with the grapes in syrup was nice but nothing modern or new. In the end we were served a bland tasteless halva,so we ordered lemon pie from the menu. Nice and creamy, except that overly sour gel on the side that was completely unnecessary. The dessert was complete on its own. These things along with some refreshment and beer, 150€. P.S the calamari was the best thing we had in that meal so we had three...
Read more⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointed – My Worst Meal on Ammouliani I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Tzanis was truly disappointing. We were drawn in by the beautiful location and the idea of fresh, local seafood, but unfortunately, the food quality was far from acceptable.
Every single dish that came to the table was dripping in oil.Even the chips, which are usually a safe side dish, were limp, soggy, and looked like they’d been sitting in oil for hours. It was honestly unappetizing.
What made it worse was the lack of care in presentation and seasoning. Nothing was balanced or thoughtfully prepared. It felt like the kitchen was rushing through orders without any attention to detail or quality.
This was hands down the worst meal I’ve had during my stay on Ammouliani. With so many lovely tavernas on the island offering authentic, fresh food, I regret wasting both time and money here. I would not recommend Tzanis to anyone looking for a proper...
Read moreUnfortunately, We didn’t manage to get a table so I’m unable to review the food. However, we are told the place is super busy and we should book a table a couple of days in advance. Therefore, we booked a table by the sea 5 days in advance to ensure we are going to enjoy the dinner and of course the beautiful views. When we tried to check in on that day the lady at the reception told us there was no reservation under my name and she left. A very rude waiter came out later pretending to be like the boss and not only he didn’t apologise for their mistake he was trying to persuade us that we didn’t book the table by the sea and instead he offered another table at the back, of course we didn’t stay for dinner after that, the service was terrible, they were really rude and unwelcoming. Not recommended at...
