Λεμονανθός Lemonanthos — Restaurant in Athens

I can’t describe how phenomenal this restaurant truly was. For some random restaurant that I decided to go to, this place had some of the best food I had ever eaten. This is true especially for their grilled flying squid dish. Honestly, I think Athena herself may have blessed the squid that I ate it was that good. It had the perfect flavor, and the portion was perfect. There was more squid than I was expecting and it came at a very good price for what it was. The salads were also great, although they were not my primary dish so I can’t speak much on the matter. I did, however, also have the fish roe dip, which I thought was excellent. The bread that I ate it with was also amazing and very soft, making for an excellent side to any meal. I also got to try the mackerel which, like the squid, came in a bigger-than-expected portion. It also was some of the best mackerel I had ever eaten, coated in plenty of herbs that are roasted to perfection. This restaurant is absolutely fantastic, and I recommend...

The Owner was very friendly to us, despite the fact we were just walking in off the street without a booked table, he still managed to fit us in to his very busy and very popular local restaurant. We were a small group of Australian's who are sooo grateful to have had the opportunity to eat here. The food served was delicious, the atmosphere was chic and modern, but, by far, the most memorable part of our dining experience, was the impeccable service we received from the male Owner, as he made our very first visit to Greece, a very pleasurable occasion. This man clearly has the friendly nature that you hope you will experience at a local dining restaurant in a new country, but can often not find, as a Western visitor. He and his Wife are fabulous hosts, the staff are courteous and we wish them all the very best...

This place was recommended by our guide as a more home cooked style of food, and I have to say it did not disappoint.

Everything was delicious and fresh, with great flavors and a daily specials menu. It was reasonably priced, and the chef also visits the tables in the restaurant when it is a bit slower.

The service was great, and the staff are really lovely and very helpful. It is obviously a favourite with the neighborhood locals too.
