George's Grill — Restaurant in Athens

The restaurant was recommended by the Staff Members of the Hotel we stayed at. We ordered the meal to take away because the terrace outside was a little dirty we did not feel comfortable to take a seat there, but the meal was very nice, the salad was fresh and tasty and the vegatables were ripe and juicy, and the gyros was a decent size with perfect use of spices. A lovely quick dinner to grab. It was in the early evening rush hours when we visited the restaurant, very very busy, but we got served within minutes. All-in-all, we can definitely recomment this place if you want to recharge yourself after a day of endless walks...

I had the beef kebab and my girlfriend had a pork gyro. These were by far the best greek food we had the entire 1 week trip we took to athens. We unfortunately went the night before our flight looking for something cheap and quick. What a mistake. We would have gone back here everyday. We had many gyros in greece, but none were even close. My girlfirend usually doesn't even like pork, but she still dreams about this gyro. As do I. I wish I knew how they marinated the pork, as I have never had anything like it. I cannot recommend this place enough. We were staying at the Zafolia Hotel and it happened to be around the corner so we tried it one day -- and never found a gyro that was better than this one in all our time in Greece. We went back as often as possible, and I have sadly been searching for something even remotely close to this now that I'm back in the US without any luck.
