Kypseli Kalamaki — Restaurant in Athens

This is my favorite spot in Athens for many reasons!

The food is delicious. We always order chicken gyros with tzatziki, feta and try something new on the menu from time to time. The food is not too salty as other places I've tried.

The food comes out quickly & is fresh. It doesn't seem like things are reheated here (at least for what we are ordering).

Extremely kind and friendly staff. Everyone is great, willing to help, always polite.

WiFi is spot on. Great signal and able to access all sites unlike other places where I've tested out the WiFi.

Open until late, 1 am. Very convenient for long days when you're still looking for something to eat before heading home.

I come here with my laptop sometimes to get some work done and everyone is really sweet and no one has made it a big deal at all. Sometimes I stay 1-2 hours just because I'm on the laptop (of course not during busy times.. would hate to be a blocker for them getting additional business). This isn't a place to work but it's like my second home so I feel comfortable here.

The food here is excellent! I ordered chicken with fries and it came with a small salad. Based on my experience yesterday I was expecting food that was unseasoned but I was delighted to discover that the food is very flavorful. The meat was cooked to perfection, some parts were nice and crunchy the rest was soft and juicy. The chicken was a tad on the salty side but I prefer it like this. The menu wasn’t in English, I just pointed to a photo of food from a previous reviewer of the restaurant on google and she The fries were crunchy and flavorful. They start by giving a large pitcher of very cold water with ice, this was much appreciated on such a hot day, I almost drank the entire pitcher. I highly recommend this place, I look forward to returning. My meal costed just 9 euro 50 cent for this large portion of food. Didn’t think I’d be able to finish it all but I came close, also included a few slices...

Came here around 20:16, ordered a serving of kebab Wrap and an iskender kebab.

Kebab Wrap was very fast given at the table (under 20 mins) and very delicious but, the iskender kebab took 1,5 hours before it came to the table.

It was very busy around this time and everyone was working hard but after multiple questions asking about the iskender kebab after the 3rd time asking, it seemed the dish was forgotten.

When the iskender kebab arrived, it was super oily and the sauce on top was ice cold. As if it just came out of the refrigerator.
