Nathan's Saloon — Restaurant in Athens

First (and last) time visit for a beer. No menu on the tables, just a leaflet with some beers with no prices in it. I ordered a draught local beer (Flaros) and the waiter brings me a 330ml glass and a receipt indicating 6 euros. I use the QR code on the table to look at the online full menu and prices and I see that the menu indicates the Flaros beer as 500ml at 6 euros. I called the waiter (who by the way was very kind and helpful) to make another order and asked him if there was a mistake in my first order as he should have brought me a 500ml glass instead of a 330ml. The waiter accepts that the glass was smaller than 500ml and he says that he will inform the owner. The owner comes in a minute and claims that the glass my beer was served in was a "traditional English pint"!!! I reply that by no means this is a pint (I've had quite a few of them in my life!) and ask him if he is willing to make a test and see if a 500ml bottle of beer can fit in there and - what a surprise- he immediately refuses saying that "he has made enough tests in his life" and that "this is the beer they serve in his shop"! I paid for the first beer and left without ordering anything else. If that is the attitude to the customer over a glass of beer, I don't even want to think what they do with the food they serve and what kind of ingredients they use. I really can't understand the favourable critics for this place and I definitely recommend to stay...

By far one of the best ( with many awards) and one of my favourite places and pleople to go out in Athens. Food is excet, coffe and all kinds of drinks. From a vast selection of beers from Greece and world wide. And also a great whiskey and amazing cocktail selection. The owner and the people who work there do it with alot of love and passion and its pet friendly as well and they have treats and special beers for dogs too. From donating to all kinds of charities, both for humans and animals. Helping with humanitarian supplies, such as food and medicine when disasters happen in Greece and other countries around. Its always great to go to a place like that to grab a beer or something to it. Because above all we are all human and kindness is the most precious thing. Φαγητό κάτω του μετρίου. Το μόνο καλό είναι ότι ήταν μεγάλη μερίδα. Τα κορίτσια ευγενεστατα ,στην εξυπηρέτηση έβαλα 1 όχι για τα κορίτσια αλλά για τον ιδιοκτήτη. Μας έφεραν και σφηνάκι. Η μπύρα οκ . Κ η μουσική οκ. Έχω βρεθεί εκεί πολλές φορές με την παρέα μου. Το μοσχαναθρεμα με την κοτσίδα που το παίζει αφεντικό,όταν πήγαμε να ταισουμε το γατάκι που ζητιανευε φαγητό από το τραπέζι , έσπευσε να μαζέψει την τυρομπαλα απ' το πατομα μόλις το κακόμοιρο πήγε να ανοίξει το στόμα του να το φαει. Και επειδή μ αρέσει να μεταφέρω με γλαφυρό τρόπο το τι μας ανέφερε " τώρα να δείρω εσένα η το γατάκι" "δεν κάνει να φάει το γατί αυτή τη τροφή του κάνει κακό" Άρα κ σ εμάς να υποθέσω??? Μήπως τη τυρομπαλα την λυπήθηκες και την ξαναπεταξες σε κανένως καιμενου το πιάτο?? Να σημειωθεί ότι εκεί που καθόμασταν ήταν σχεδόν δρόμος .. τ ότι ο μοσχος έχει βάλει οριοθέτηση του καταστήματος του με plexiglass πάνω στον πεζόδρομο δεν σημαίνει ότι λερωσαμε εσωτερικό χώρο. Επίσης τα γατάκια περιφέρονται ελεύθερα μέσα εκεί. Είμαστε κ εμείς από τουριστικές περιοχές και ξέρουμε!! Στο μεταξύ το μαγαζί παιδιά είναι ένας απλος εξωτερικός χώρος. Κοινώς κάθεσαι έξω! Μπαζει από παντού. Τα μανιτάρια ανάβουν τσιγκουνευτα! Και κάνουν λες και περιμένουν πάρτι κάθε μέρα. Επίσης μονίμως δεν γέμιζει! Άρα και λογοκρισία στο που θα κάτσουμε.... Μην προσπαθείς να μας πετάξεις στάχτη στα μάτια ανεπιτυχώς με το ότι νοιάζεσαι για το ζωάκι! Ότι το φαγητό που τρώμε εμείς κάνει κακο στην γάτα. Άρα σκουπίδια μας ταιζεις. Κοινώς το παραδέχεσαι! Να προσέχεις τι λες λοιπον γιατί σου αντίγυρίζει ! Επίσης απ' ότι είδα στις κριτικές όλοι μα όλοι μιλάνε για το πόσο για δέσιμο είναι ο ιδιοκτήτης... Τα μαγαζιά συνήθως είναι για διασκέδαση.. δυσκοιλιοι τύποι σαν κ εσένα τα κλείνουν,δεν τα διατηρούν. Διότι και οι φάτσες τους πρέπει να είναι ευχάριστες για να τα διατηρούν αλλά και η συμπεριφορα τους να σε σκλαβώνει. Όπως βλέπεις είσαι μια δυσφήμιση για το ίδιο σου το μαγαζί ... Άσε ευχάριστους ανθρώπους να δουλέψουν για εσένα και φύγε από εκεί μπας και το σώσεις... Ως αναφορά το φαγητό και την ποιότητα,ας μην κοροϊδεύομαστε, βάφεις αυγά...
