We were here Friday 20th August 2021 and had a fabulous evening meal. Bebelis is located on one the main street that leads from the seafront to the small main square, I guess it's quite central, it's on the left as you walk from the sea.
It's a nice place, quite small looking from the outside but when inside it appears bigger, there seems to be a gallery area above, the bar is on the left-hand side. The outside tables were all taken, we sat inside, this required us to show COVID vaccination proof which I was impressed with and along with this staff were really committed to cleanliness. We had some great food, Chickpea with Peppers, Octopus cooked in Red Wine with Smoked Aubergine, Stuffed Onions, Baked Sagnaki were amongst the starters and mains, a really nice white wine and a dessert given on the house at the end which was also wonderful. The food was wonderful, service was excellent, it seemed like a family business. We loved this place, if you are in this great town make sure...
Read moreTHE FOOD IS INSAAAAANEEEEE!!!!! I SWEAR with no exaggeration it may be the BEST i have ever tried in a restaurant..simply speechless...FOOD MADE WITH LOVE We ordered kolokithokeftedes(zucchini balls) and ntomatokeftedes(tomato balls), tzatsiki and the KELEMIA as appetizer and pork with plum and feta and KOTSI...all cooked in a delicious sauce. each piece was litteraly melting in the mouth , the sauce was matching and enhancing perfectly the taste both of the meat and of the kelemia.
The food had literally a vibe and taste that matches so well with the rustic atmosphere of the restaurant. Everything there from the food to the decoration screams quality. The style of the restaurant makes you feel like you are in a very romantic, warm and private restaurant in a very picturesque rural location. We had a wonderful...

However, my food was pretty tasteless, starter and main, and I would say its very much aimed at tourists in terms of quality. Also, when I asked for tap water, instead of the bottled water placed on the table, the owner made out she didn't understand and then when I did a few universal signs for tap water told me it was no good and I would get a bad belly. In other words no. Considering I'd been given tap water with the coffees I'd been having elsewhere (without asking) unless this restaurant is on its own plumbing it seems unlikely the tap water is different to anywhere else and that's a shame. It left more of a taste than the food,...
