Elia Olympus Restaurant — Restaurant in Dion - Olympos Municipality

We ate at the restaurant 3 times, once for lunch and twice for dinner because we were staying at the hotel and had opted for A La Carte. The food is ok to good, not great.

Service, overall the wait staff at the hotel and restaurant were good but we found our waiter for dinner was always rushing somewhere (although we were only a la carte guests, they share duties with half board guests) that he wasn't listening to us, yes there is a language barrier but it is still clear when someone is not listening to customers properly. Even when ordering he kept interjecting and kept offering suggestions before we had even had a chance to look at the menu. He hard sold me the fish of the day which you can read about later and we told him we wanted to order souffle early as we know this takes time he seemed to just not listen again and the kitchen had to make it just as it was closing. The salad I asked to change the cheese from 1 type to feta, he did this first night bringing small cut cubes but the second night he wasnt listening again and didnt bring it, when I enquired I was given a whole block of Feta which I was taken aback by and when the bill came that cost me €5! When ordering orange fanta, we could see he wasnt listening again and we repeated the order again and it was clear he was ordering fresh orange juice instead of fanta.

Food First thing is the vegetarian option is woefully lacking, only 1 main dish on the menu which is Mediterranean pasta. There is no vegan option unless specially requested but you must give clear instructions. Put at least 1 other thing on your menu please. The Med Pasta for lunch was good and different tasting to the pasta for dinner for some reason. For dinner the salad option was tasty and make a special request for chips these are great. Bread is given as an accompaniment but with no butter so you must request this. At dinner the med pasta came with yoghurt on top. Why? The yoghurt overpowered the dish. So the next night we made sure to specify no yoghurt and it was fine. The catch of the day with Roasted Veg was ok , I was abit annoyed because the waiter was hard selling the fish and I said I didnt want it because I didnt want to de-bone the fish, so he said he would make sure I got fillets instead. His idea of this was to let the fish be cooked and then deboned and shredded the fish in front of me! This was the strangest thing and not what I thought would happen. Someone picking your food apart is not appealing. So I ordered the Salmon fillet the next night, which was better but I would suggest less Thyme covering. Roasted veg was also ok, but both days the fish did not seem fresh (you can tell when the fish smell becomes stronger, my friend used to work in a fish counter) which is disappointing for a restaurant specialising in fish. The chocolate souffle were excellent.

Overall this place is ok, service ok but need to work on listening, food some dishes great but mains are only ok. I would say there are better places but if you are staying in the hotel it is convenient but give very clear and specific instructions if you have dietary...

We spend a nice evening there and enjoyed a large selection of appetizers, main meals and desserts from the buffet. The food was very tasty and we enjoyed the nice atmosphere.
