Diamantis — Restaurant in Kassandra Municipality

I know is lower than others ratings but I will explain why. First of all we arrived and we stayed where they told us. After that we stay 5 minutes without anyone from the staff to talk or ask something. Meanwhile other table just near us was occupied and they bring them water, glasses and other things who are part of cover. After 5 minutes as I already mentioned they bring us also and they give 4 menus, we where 5 people at the table, one of the menu it was only in greek. We managed of course with 3 menus. What I mentioned until this point it's only because what happened after :). We order 8 dishes, 2 as starters, spiced cheese (Tirokaftery) and cheese with tomato at oven (Bouyourdi) to serve with bred already brought to the table and prepared with olive oil and oregano I think. Also we order 2 portions of grilled octopus, one mixed grill, one souvlaki, one grilled fish and, because they told us this will came without garnish, we order grilled vegetables. Also some rose wine After a while they bring the drink and start to bring also the food. They came with starters but olso with one portion of griled octopus. After 5 minutes they bring mixed grill and souvlaki, after another 3 minutes, second portion of octopus and grilled vegetables. The fish was bring to us after 20 minutes, even if I asked where it is when they bring grilled vegetables. We refuse the fish because we already eat what was on the table. This wasn't all. The octopus was not cleaned well so we must clean ourselves in the plate, it came with some skin's and black liquid in the sack. The taste was good but it wasn't a good experience, we did not expect to have that in mouth. After first taste we understand is not what we want, we eat anyway but not all. Souvlaki was made of pork and was hard and some of the pieces like chewing gum, cannot be swallowed. We just had our first time ever family lunch at this place. We were satisfied with the possibility to book it online. We were welcomed well and the service initially looked good. We believe that this restaurant inside the menu card must have clearly marked prices for all the items e.g. per kg of the fish so we could easily decide what and how much to order. The sea fish was prepared fresh. We received the ordered meal quite soon, however we got confused when instead of individual small portions for a single person we got two big family portions of kalamari and grilled vegetables. While ordering we clearly mentioned we need the small ones and we asked the waiter to repeat what we ordered. Having in mind that the portion of the grilled vegetable was literally made of one grilled eggplant, one tomato and one paprika served on a big plate, we drank only one bottle of the normal water, and had 4 fish soups, as well as a shared portion of a grilled sea bass we believe the price of 114 Eur is overestimated. The feeling we got is the staff makes guests tricked regarding their orders and brings what was not explicitly ordered, most likely to charge guests more. Instead I would expect the waiter to ask us if we want bread and the water. Having said that, I did not leave any tip and do not recommend having a meal...

Behavior

They wouldn't let us sit at the tables closer to the sea because we were two people, even though the tables were not reserved. We asked one of the waiters where we could sit. After we were seated at a table, another waiter came and told us to change it in a very rude way. Since we didn't want to ruin our night, we accepted and changed the table. They kept directing people to the tables at the back until all the tables were occupied.

Service

We ordered appetizers and fish as the main dish, but the fish never arrived. After waiting for a very long time, we reminded them, and they said it was forgotten but would be served shortly. However, it still wasn't served, and no one explained anything. Finally, we decided to leave and asked to pay the check, but this also took a very long time. The place has many tables, but the number of staff was not enough, even though they seemed to be doing their best.

Taste

The fried zucchini was full of oil. When you take a bite, your mouth only tastes oil. The scallops were delicious, and I would recommend them. However, the taste of the white wine was poor. You don't feel anything but sourness.
