We visited this place twice, and both times had negative experiences.
First the prices do not match the menu. For example, retsina is listed as €3 but actually costs €6 (the owner himself confirmed it). On our second visit, the bill again contained an extra €2 for something we never ordered, which was only removed after we pointed it out.
Second, when we questioned the inconsistencies, the owner seemed exposed and started talking in Greek to his staff. Then he pretended to be “giving us tzatziki for free,” saying “take it for free”, even though it was already included and paid for in the receipt. When I asked why he was saying “for free,” he avoided explaining, acted irritated, and waved us off, telling us basically to leave. This was pure manipulation and very disrespectful.
Third, when I later tried to calmly address everything with him point by point, he didn’t listen and clearly did not want to have a conversation. Zero acceptance of feedback, no regard for their visitors.
Unfortunately, this place left us with a very bad impression, and we cannot...
Read moreWhen it comes to gyros, I know exactly how they should taste – and that’s why every year we make sure to visit this place in Halkidiki. They’re simply that good! I love the simplicity here: even when it’s crowded, the service is quick and efficient (and honestly, I don’t mind waiting when I know the food will be worth it). Prices are fair too – yes, things in Greece have gone up a little, but it’s still cheaper than back home and the quality is so much better. A small tip for fellow travelers: if you see a crowd or lots of locals eating somewhere, that’s usually the best sign you’ve found a great spot. We’ve been coming for 3 years now, and they even recognized us right away – such a nice touch! Friendly people, quick service, delicious food, and a great vibe. Please keep it as traditional as it is now (and don’t start...
Read moreI was looking forward to this gryo, but left a bit disappointed. Maybe a result of coming at a time when the shop wasn’t busy (13:20), we felt the meat could have been more juicy and the fries were not crispy and bland. The fluffy pita and the fresh tzatziki (which I wanted more of) was the saving grace.
As we ate however, a line of people soon formed and the staff began slicing meat off the spit and dropping a new batch of fries. Therefore it seems that we had received old fries and meat that had been sitting in the tray which is extra susceptible to drying out quickly.
Not a special gyro, but can see it maybe has potential in busy hours.
It would be so much better if the staff sliced meat to order in slower times and quickly drop the fries in oil to get them...
