Out of all the restaurants I visited this summer in Greece, this truly has a place in my heart and will be my go-to place whenever I visit Kythnos.
The ambience is amazing, the location is wonderful, the service is as it should be for such a place. Casual, friendly and very knowledgeable.
We visited Margiora twice. For dinner and for breakfast and both were memorable.
For dinner we had two of their very tasty salads (the greek salad has a nice twist in it) and the octopus salad (although with not so much octopus in it…) was very tasty; the grilled string beans were a wonderful addition (and a revelation). Their shrimp dumplings is a must order, filled with mince shrimp and a light avocado sauce (which in all fairness should have been more)
The hit of the menu are their flatbreads offered in 5-6 variations. If you are a meat lover do please try the smoked minced lamb one. Spicy salty and full of umami. Would eat it again
Next day we went there for breakfast which was equally as good. We shared two egg dishes and a yoghurt one and all three were delicious.
I don’t know if Margiora on its own is a reason to visit Kythnos but if you plan on visiting Kythnos you would be hugely mistaken if you were not...
Read moreI would like to share my experience from yesterday at the Margiora in Kythnos. The pricing and quality of drinks left me feeling quite disappointed.
During our visit, we ordered 2 cocktails and 2 simple drinks, which totaled 52€ in cost. Surprisingly, the cocktails were priced at 12€ each (24€ in total), and the simple drinks at 28€. We were informed that the Bombay Dry Gin brand was considered a "special" drink, justifying its higher price of 14€.
Unfortunately, the cocktails we received were overly sweet and lacked the expected depth of flavor and spirits. This was quite unexpected, especially considering our prior positive experiences as regular patrons of the bar in previous years.
It's regrettable to see how the bar's quality and pricing have taken a disappointing turn. As much as we used to enjoy visiting this place, our recent experience has left us with no...
Read moreWe sat in an area where there were around eleven children. Anyway so you all know how this review is going to sound. The restaurant is lovely for the island very clever marketing and a good product. For the price point and execution of the product things don’t gel. Kythnos is a relatively provincial island and this restaurant was selling a high end product. The dishes where too heavy for the time of year. The starters came out one by one so delays from the kitchen and the main course all came out and one of us was waiting ten minutes … again management and kitchen issues. We are talking about a 30 to 45 euro price point per plate here. And they asked us to keep out used forks for the main. The waitresses where great. Five people a little over 700 euro. Is it...
