I do not rate in general. But, if something is extraordinary in any way, it should be mentioned. We have been spending part of our summer vacations at this place (Poros beach) for 10 years now. And, we have stopped dining at this place three years ago due to extraordinary rudeness of the staff. Today, for some reason, we decided to give it a chance. What a bad idea that was… We are a family of four (kids being twins of 10yo). We ordered the carafe of white wine which was a decent young white Mouscat wine… and the water… that was served swiftly… the agony started from there… we ordered the Greek salad and Tzatziki to start with, and for the mains, we ordered Saganaki cheese for our daughter, Burger for our son, my wife ordered Pork Souvlaki and I ordered Calamari fried… After 10 minutes, we were served the salad, the Tzatziki and the Saganaki cheeae oredered as the main course. No problem. It is not a fine dining, even if we agreed with the waiter that the salad and Tzatziki will be the startesrs, and then we have four meals for four guests as the main course. How complicated that can be? In about half an hour or 40 minutes we were served Calamari and Souvlaki. No burger… when I asked for the burger, we were informed that no burger was ordered, and then we asked for the burger to be made, being informed that we will have to wait for that one ( it is quite obvious that is frozen food). We sid OK. Should I mention that the order was taken by a person that we believe is the owner since we know the place for years, and the food was served by the same waiter we stopped coming to the restaurant in ghe first place. Now, the Souvlaki that we were served was unbeatable, it was so burnt it was bitter. When I managed yo get the owner (manager) attention he said they would change that, which is OK, if we play dimm at the fact that they knowingly served us something which they shouldn’t have, hoping it will work. At the end, we were served the Souvlaki which was not burned in the same time as the burger for our son. The fiod is a bit below average quality. The service should not be mentioned. We will most certainly never come back...
Read moreMikros Gialos beach is beautiful, but problem is parking. When we arrived, there were no free spots left, so we had to park at a tavern. After guiding us to the parking area, the owners made it clear that in order to get free parking and sunbeds, we were required to have lunch there with a minimum spend of €45.
As for the food – the salad with spicy peppers and cheese was sour, and the fries were cooked in the same oil as fish, leaving them with an unpleasant taste. The only dishes we truly enjoyed were feta in the oven and the pork souvlaki. When we asked to have the leftovers packed, the staff refused and simply brought us empty boxes to do it ourselves.
Another major issue were the wasps and even a hornet that constantly disturbed us during the meal. After we complained, the staff offered to create smoke, but it didn’t help – we just ended up eating in an uncomfortable smoky atmosphere.
The food is also overpriced, with the cost reflecting the tavern’s beachfront location on Lefkada rather than the actual quality.
Overall, while the bay itself is beautiful and worth visiting, the experience at this tavern was disappointing and I would not...
Read moreWe waited for food for more than an hour and a half..When we informed the staff that we needed to leave and wanted to cancel our order, the restaurant refused to cancel it, insisting we had to pay.
The owner became aggressive, yelled at us, verbally abused us, and even threatened to call the police. This was extremely distressing — our child started crying, and we felt unsafe and humiliated.
They brought takeaway containers and forced us to pack the food ourselves, even though we never ate at the table. We were then forced to pay in full, under emotional and verbal pressure.
This experience left us shocked and traumatized during what was supposed to be a pleasant holiday. The restaurant owner violated basic principles of hospitality, customer rights, and human decency.
Due to such bad treatment, we submitted an official complaint to the Ministry of Tourism of Greece, and we will submit a report to the competent tourist inspection.
We are also thinking of hiring a lawyer from Greece who will also file a lawsuit against the owner of...
