I don’t want to harm any businesses but like to comment my 2cents after having an experience which was not good.
We were very excited for our dinner and, based on the high score and reviews, we thought we found a great Greek seafood restaurant. To be fair, even though the place was busy, the staff was friendly and helpful. However, from the moment you look at the menu, it’s clear this restaurant caters primarily to tourists, and you won’t see many locals dining here. That should have been our first clue that this wouldn’t offer the authentic Greek seafood experience we were looking for.
We didn’t want to sit at a local restaurant only to be served a menu designed for mostly UK tourists, with generic translations and no real Greek names. The food felt like something we’d buy from a supermarket. If you’re familiar with the real flavors of Greek appetizers, you’d quickly realize this place falls far short. The quality was simply low, despite the tourist-friendly pricing. This was the first time I didn’t finish my octopus—it was so chewy and tasteless that I asked to have it packed up to feed the street cats.
We tried appetizers, octopus, and fried calamari, but nothing tasted good. The calamari weren’t even cleaned properly, and the fried mix was poorly done. The eggplant appetizer was, to put it mildly, horrible. Overall, we were really disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic, high-quality Greek cuisine.
If you’re just looking for a quick meal with friendly service, then this place might be okay. But if you’re after an excellent, authentic Greek dining experience, I’d strongly suggest avoiding it. One more thing that really annoyed us was when we asked for an invoice—it seemed to come as a surprise to them, and it took an extra 10 minutes to finally bring it, as if it were a special request. That was a frustrating way to end an already disappointing meal.
In short, when looking for genuine Greek food deliciousness avoid any places if there are no locals...
Read moreA visit to this delightful Greek taverna promises a journey of the senses, underscored by a mouth-watering selection of seafood dishes, exquisite starters, and unmatched service.
From the moment you step foot into this restaurant, you’re embraced by a warm and inviting atmosphere that is quintessentially Greek. The interior boasts of traditional decor, radiating an authentic charm that perfectly complements the gastronomic adventure you are about to embark upon.
The menu is a seafood lover’s paradise, showcasing the best of what the Ionian sea has to offer. The taverna’s standout dish is, without a doubt, its freshly caught fish. The subtlety in flavors and the precision in the cookery, elevating the natural taste of the fish, are nothing short of culinary excellence. Whether it’s the grilled octopus or the sumptuous lobster, every bite promises a burst of freshness that pays homage to Greece’s maritime legacy.
The starters, too, deserve a special mention. They set the stage for the meal ahead, ranging from traditional tzatziki to more innovative, locally-inspired creations. Each starter serves as a delightful tease to the palate, brimming with zest and flavour.
However, the true hero of this taverna is the outstanding service. The staff not only provide exceptional service but also make it their mission to ensure that every guest feels like a part of their family. Their attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and prompt response make each dining experience personal and memorable.

Read moreAuthentic dining experience! This traditional Taverna came recommended to us by our host in Lefkada, so we took his advice the first night and tried it out, it was so good we came back again for our last night of the trip - and this is uncommon for us!
Set in the picturesque harbour of Mikros Gialos, with small sailing and fishing boats sprinkled in the bay and beautiful trees and greenery dominating the land, Zolithros blends in perfectly (a tree literally grows through the restaurant) and offers great views out into the bay.
We drove down the winding roads and parked very easily by the waters edge.
The fish is caught daily by the restaurant and is on display inside for your viewing and selection, all the fish we tried was perfectly cooked, extremely tasty and you can just tell it's fresh. Generous portions and a great selection of local fish/traditional greek cuisine, plenty of feta cheese which is a favourite of mine, the baked feta and the feta with honey were 10/10! A nice variety for vegetarian dishes too for both starters and main courses.
Highlight worthy of the trip and next time I am in Lefkada, every effort will be made to come back here for dinner! I would recommend making a reservation in advance due to...
