The food was okay, not the greatest but not bad.
The service was awful. Took forever to get our food and our daughter was getting upset because she was so hungry.
At one point we saw a man screaming at the waiters and had a little laugh thinking it was an angry customer. We later saw the same man bossing the waiters around closer to us and it turned out to be the owner. We were shocked at how poorly he treated his staff. I honestly don’t know how he retains any staff if he treats them this way in front of customers. We thought that was shocking enough but apparently there was more in store for us to watch.
We then saw a waiter bash the woman at the table next to us in the head, hard and not even notice until the people at the woman’s table yelled at him. He then asked if she was okay but didn’t apologize and just walked away without offering assistance. The woman did not look well, I thought she was going to throw up, but she definitely looked dizzy. Her friends then yelled to waitstaff to get ice. He did eventually bring ice, but did not check in any further.
I then saw the woman’s husband track down the owner to complain about this. The owner started off ok, but quickly began screaming at the table. It sounded like he offered them ice cream and sweets for their troubles but the table understandably just wanted to leave since the woman looked unwell. It sounded like they just wanted a discount on their meal at this point and the owner became belligerent. To note, they appeared to have eaten an inexpensive meal and the owner could have quietly comped them and moved on, but chose to scream at them and attempt to humiliate them instead. It was confusing for us because he had just offered them free sweets that probably came to the same price as the pizza they had ordered, so why not just comp the pizza and wish them the best.
Instead the owner screamed at them claiming they were cheap and screaming that the woman was fine. Which he definitely couldn’t know and isn’t how head injuries work. How many people suffer head injuries, think they’re fine, and very much aren’t? Celebrity Bob Saget and his death come to mind.
We honestly thought the screaming man was some mid level manager who was going to have his paycheck cut by some horrible boss by the way the man was behaving. Only when we complained to the concierge at our hotel did we learn that this was the owner and this behavior was normal for him. She said he’s known for screaming at people.
We almost went to Pizza Bako’s which had better reviews than this place, and regret that we didn’t as this was our last night and left a sour taste on Loutraki.
I do hope that woman ended up...
Read moreThe food was ok, but the service was truly insane. We watched a waiter swing a bistro table into a customers head accidentally while he was moving it, hitting her HARD, and when the rest of her party complained to the manager he started screaming at them for asking for money off the bill. It wasn’t a soft tap on the head or something, she looked dizzy afterwards, and the manager started screaming about how they were cheap for wanting a discount! Really the most bizarre behaviour i’ve ever seen. We saw him yelling at employees earlier in the night too and didn’t even realize he was the manager, thought he was an angry customer. The view is nice but probably not worth having to risk an encounter with the table-swinging waitstaff or the manager with...
Read moreAs is the norm with these restaurants in Greece, they LACK basic service period. I have doubts if they have been trained to take care of the customer. In other words you can NOT have the customer wait for food! Give them an appetizer! In our situation I asked repeatedly for snacks for the kids. We were given nothing! Additionally, we were there for a birthday. They had NO cakes to surprise the birthday girl. Finally, the bad thing about this and other restaurants on the beach, they want the money from the customer but they can NOT KEEP THE BEACH CLEAN OF THE PLASTIC AND BOTTLES THAT THE CUSTOMER LEFT BEHIND! Thus, I blame the owners in doing a LOUSY JOB in service and in keeping their beach or our...
