You'd have to travel across the island to find an Italian restaurant to compete with what Luca and his family have created here.

From outside, you'd be forgiven for missing this place, with three or four tables out front, it doesn't stand out. Then Luca greets you with his trademark charm and you feel right at home.

Luca and his son only offer what they have been able to find fresh at the market, which means they have a constant cycle of great specials that you'd be foolish to miss. These are people who care about good food and good wine and it shows in every mouthful.

After reading all the positive opinions and good notes this restaurant turned out to be very disappointing. We were waiting 1 hour for just a starter and then after 20 minutes we asked how much longer do we have to wait for our main dishes. We were being told that it will take 5 minutes. Indeed it was 5 minutes but the food wasn't so hot as we think it should be. The prices isn't so attractive either considering the size of the dishes in comparison to all the greek restaurants which are situated...

Fantastic fresh home made food, authentic Italian, in a delightful and intimate setting. A good selection on the menu and the quality of the food would be at home in major cities around the world. One of the best Italians I have visited anywhere.

The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable and the service is personal, attentive but not intruding. Highly recommended for your visit to Plaka or Crete more generally.
