"HAROKOPOS" traditional taverna ΕΣΤΙΑΤΟΡΙΟ ΠΛΑΚΑ ΧΑΝΙΑ — Restaurant in Municipality of Apokoronas

We visited this place on our second night and we don’t want to try any other restaurant It feels like it just can’t get any better and as you can see from the pictures we visited 3 nights in a raw and were never disappointed.

First and foremost the flavours are super delicious and traditional. All dishes are freshly prepared with local ingredients. The food taste very homey and made with love. The owners are very friendly and happily help you with what dishes to try.

I can’t explain how this made us feel, if you are reading this review, it is your sign to visit and try. Thank me later and enjoy!

Unfortunately I dont know who made the reviews but either its their friends or fake reviews. we been there today. after ordering and already waiting for 1hr for the main courses the waiter came and told us that several of the dishes are sold out. this might happen even though i expect that to be told in the process of ordering or few minutes later. then the food came and it was not good at all. taste was awful, super small dish sizes and it looked like my grandma just threw it on a table. they also forgot some sides and brought them 15 min later. we paid around 90€ - the day before we were at the prime food spot in almyrida "psaros" and paid around 140€ for super good sea food and more variety. i cannot reccomend this...

Fabulous, forget the rest just go to the best. Proper Cretan food unlike many of the tourist inspired tavernas locally. Very friendly staff who will sit and chat (if they have time) and teach you a little Greek if you’re so inclined. Really fabulous food, huge variety, large portions with low prices. Want something different, just ask and they will do their very best to accommodate you. You can eat here for two weeks and not run out of menu. Although I have my own favourites, fried zucchini balls, zucchini flowers stuffed with cheese, calamari, lamb chops… tbh the list goes on and on.
