Fish Taverna Gerekos — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

The food was really tasty, but I feel a bit robbed considering the prices and the small amounts of food that were served. Maybe I am underestimating how much these ingredients cost, but you just judge for yourself. The fish pictured we were charged 30€ exactly as it is here. That one octopus leg was 17€. Both of these pictures were taken before we had eaten anything of it.

Service was quick, servers were friendly. They asked me in the end if I’d liked the food. I told them it tasted great but felt it was way too little food. They just looked at me sadly and went away. No efforts to address this problem I had made them aware of. Then why ask me for feedback?

I won’t be coming again even though the food tasted good because I feel like I can get more value for money...

Highly recommend this place! Very nice fish restaurant near the big hotels in the area. The owner can bring you inside, so that you can choose the fish you want. We had the snapper, which was delicious! Very reasonable prices too. Great atmosphere and there was only one or two of the usual neighbourhood cats. It is a nice quiet place and there was no noise from traffic or any bars nearby. It was a 15-minute walk from Kontokali Bay. Our family of 7 rolled up to this restaurant at 10:40 on a Thursday evening after having traveled from the US for days. We were exhausted, starving and desperate.

This little family restaurant welcomed us, brought food quickly, and oh my gracious the food was simply amazing.

My father is Greek and we know the difference between “touristy” Greek food and authentic Greek cuisine.
