Unfortunately the (few) restaurants of Chalki village are really spoilt by day-trippers from Rhodes which fill up the places without much effort. Nice, in parts shady location at the port with nice views. The menu is absolutely okay, basic island-style. The portions are small, the fried fish looked very lonely on their plate, the tzatziki was equally small - and the dakos was nothing that would deserve the name: it was a mushy wet something of old bread with a bit of tomato and feta added - no sign of rusks. I have chosen sardines with fries and the fish were definitely made from canned fish, which was very disappointing since the sea was about 5 metres away from the restaurant. The staff made us feel very unwelcomed, they were unhelpful and they really tried to get away from any requests we have had. But I gave one star because my friend and I got a recommendation and were guided to this restaurant by the trip office, saying that we're going to get 10% discount. And for two students who were on a budget, we thought the offer was reasonable. When the check came, we noticed that we didn't get any discount, yet we got even a tax on the bill!!
