Our first meal in Greece, and by far the best. We are fortunate enough not to need to look at prices when we dine out, but this meal turned out to be the least expensive yet, and we’ve eaten out a dozen times since then.
The seafood was immaculately fresh. The ingredients were varied and expertly curated, and the presentations were thoughtful. The menu is both sophisticated (ex: the grilled octopus starter) and completely rudimentary (fried kalamari / grilled freshly caught sardines), so do feel comfortable using your hands!
And, for a menu as diverse, everything which came out was just pristine. Thassos was our server (he absolutely did not encourage us to leave this review - he and this restaurant just flatly deserve it) and had great recommendations, which we will indulge in next time we are in Crete. He’s also just a really cool dude, and just the kinda guy we’d love to chill out with over a few beers.

Read moreStumbling upon Almyriki was the best thing during our Chania holidays this autumn. The quality of the food and service was simply stellar. As a result, we had 3 dinners in the space of 5 days. We would have had more id we have discovered this place earlier! Every dish we tried was delicious and made with the freshest ingredients. Moreover, the cocktail bar at Almyriki puts out the top cocktails, which allows you to either enjoy them marvelling the view of Stavros beach or take them to the rocks behind the restaurant to take in the breathtaking sunset. I used to have a different place as the restaurant with the best grilled squid but that spot is now taken by Almyriki. No words for how amazing that dish is there. The staff are wonderful and attentive. No wonder this place is so...
Read moreAlmyriki tantalises the senses. The food is excellent, creative and beautiful, with a blend of flavours that enhnaces each meal. We sampled many dishes and wines and all exceeded our expectations. Greek food in general is good, to find a good Greek restaurant is excellent. Almyriki does Greek with a stylish twist. The service is attentive and friendly. Everything about the restaurant is seemingly hand picked, with attention to detail that does not go unnoticed. I personally love the vibe of the area and to have a classy yet casual place to eat is well worth visiting. I have been a few times over the years and it just gets better and better. We always come back here when we are in Crete. Thank you to Yannis and his delightful family for always making us feel welcome. We will...
