Ausgangsbewertung bei mir sind immer 5 Sterne. 2 Sterne Abzug gibt es mal sowieso fürs Service und 1 noch für die oberfreche Oberkellnerin/Chefin. Bei unserem Eintreffen um 15:15 Uhr hatten wir im gut besuchten Restaurant einen Tisch im Auge. Reserviert 15:00 Uhr. Ich scherzte mit dem Kellner in der Nähe, dass die sowieso schon zu spät sind. Aber - Oh Gott oh Gott - der Tisch gehört zum langen Tisch daneben (eine Gruppe mit 15 Personen sollte kommen). Meine Frau hatte bereits mit einem anderen Kellner einen anderen Tisch gefunden, der gerade frei geworden war. Wir bestellten 2 dunkle Amstel, 1 Liter Tafelwasser, Vorspeisen Käsebälle und kretischen Salat, Hauptspeisen Kalamari und Oktopus. Unsere 2,5 jährige Tochter hatten wir auch noch mit. Wir bekamen die 2 Bier, Brot und den Salat. Anschließend den Oktopus. Nach einer weiteren halben Stunde Wartezeit ist meine Frau mit unserer Tochter gegangen. Mittlerweile war die größere Gruppe eingetroffen, für die die Tische seit 15 Uhr reserviert waren. Muss der Bürgermeister von Chania mit seiner Familie gewesen sein oder sonst irgendeine kretische Prominenz. Ab dem Zeitpunkt waren 3 Kellner für die Gruppe abgestellt. Gäste rundherum waren egal. Nach weiteren 20 Minuten Wartezeit kam ein junger Kellner mit den Käsebällen. Weiterhin ohne Wasser und Kalamari. Ich habe ihm mitgeteilt, was bis jetzt nicht gebracht wurde, meine Familie schon gegangen ist und mich die Käsebälle nicht mehr interessieren. Die landeten dann bei der "Bürgermeistergruppe". Nach 5 Minuten kam die Oberkellnerin/Chefin und hielt mir eine Rede. Zu Wort kommen ließ sie mich erst nachdem ich ihr mitgeteilt habe, dass ich der Gast bin und sie mich schon 5x unterbrochen hat. Die nicht gebrachten Lebensmittel erklärte sie mit Ölwechsel bei den Grillplatten. Ich fragte sie, ob man für Tafelwasser auch Öl braucht. Der wahre Grund - teilte ich ihr mit - ist die "Bürgermeistergruppe". Nein - die essen ja nur Salat. Jaja. Sie meinte noch, dass es mein Fehler war die Käsebälle nicht anzunehmen und nicht noch 20 Minuten auf die Kalamari zu warten. Ich verlangte die Rechnung. Die kam. Nach weiteren 20 Minuten (Rezession geschrieben) erklärte mir ein Kellner, dass ich mit Karte vorne zahlen muss. Meine Frau kam zurück. War knapp davor eine Vermisstenanzeige aufzugeben.

Extremely tasty food. Seafood is fresh from the sea. On the beach so the view is amazing. People are extremely polite and friendly. Obviously place is family run. Prices are great. Spend a day there ....pick up sun bed sets for 8 bucks or a luxury option for 20. Have a lunch there and stay till sunset. Unique place. Have a tsigoudia to start the meal. Have a octopus fresh or calamari on the grill. Sea urchins salad(ask how to be eaten) crete salad and tirokafteri, cheese. Actually all are great. Great job for this people. The place is more secluded and very charming.

...you can, but you dont have to... Only excellent is the view and the traditional but improvised hut. Prices for drinks okay. We had a small lunch with three adults and one child - really small - 2 main courses, 4 mini starters - 4 drinks and paid 56,00€. Too much for this quality and quantity. Tzatziki were only 4 tablespoons. 7€ for 8 little marinaded sardines?! Could this be true? Will come back only for drinks...we had the impression that tourists - non greek people - treated like second class...when we saw greek people on other tables.

Big disappointment. This place has been recommended on one youtube channel as the place to go if you want to feel the real Greek atmosphere and eat best seafood. Thats why we travelled from quite far away to visit it and to have a wonderful experience from our holidays but we have never seen such poor service and they gave us the feeling that we are not really welcome here. Greeks are known for their friendliness and kindness but thats not the case here. I fully agree with some other comments that they treat greeks different then tourists, otherwise most probably they would need to close this business. Location is awsome, food average (poor portions) very bad service (you order something, but you dont get it and its on the bill) no hello, no thank you, no good bye just pay and leave. If you are tourist, stay away - they dont like you and you will never want to come back. First time in Greece i saw...

Some dishes only consist of the ingredient stated on the menu. For example, I ordered grilled shrimps and got five grilled shrimps plus two thin tomato slices. Would have appreciated the waiter asking if I wanted something with it, but apparently he wasn't that interested in serving tourists. The food was okay as such, but the portions were very small. The grand total for a family of five was €65, which is appalling considering that yesterday, we had a lovely lunch (and good-sized portions) at To Maridaki in Chania for just €58.

The worst of all was the painfully slow service. We were basically abandoned at the table and had to go find the waiter to get a check. Then we sat there waiting again, with the money on the table, and had to locate the waiter to put the money straight in his hand. If we hadn't, we would probably still be...

I was there few days ago. The bay is wonderful, while the taverna service is terrible. Orders mixed, you wait for more than 15 minutes for somebody to come and take your order. Other 15 minutes more to get what ordered. The young staff are not very friendly but at least they are not rude as the Owner (white hair one, around 55-60 years old). He was very rude to the clients staying in a table more than 1 hour. We witnessed his rude behavior to a family with kids just because they were having frape and not eating lunch.

We were supposed to eat lunch there, but after I saw such rude behavior of the owner, we decided to go to another place. When you enter nobody says welcome, when you pay...nobody says thank you. Nice place with not friendly staff (junior ones) and extremely rude owner. I don't recommend just for the bad service...
