I recently visited this delightful restaurant, a cozy gem offering a wide array of authentic Crete-based cuisine. Each dish I tried was a testament to the quality of ingredients and culinary skill, capturing the essence of Crete's rich gastronomic culture. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, they are justified by the exceptional quality of food served here.One thing I noticed, however, is that the portions have become slightly smaller compared to my previous visits. While this didn't detract from the overall experience, it's something for the management to consider.The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the service. Amazing food from Crete. All the dishes are influenced by Cretan traditional products. I highly recommend the Apaki and Manolios (omelette with staka, french fries and Apaki). They even had local Cretan beers, I tried the Harma which was good. The only thing we didn't like was that they told us that inside the restaurant (with the Air-conditioning) they would be smoking. With two baby twins we had to sit outside and with 30+ °C it was really hot for everyone and most importantly for the baby twins. Ειχα ακούσει για μια κρητική ταβέρνα στην Ηλιούπολη η οποία κάνει εξαιρετική δουλειά αλλα δεν είχα καταφέρει ποτέ να την επισκεφτώ. Κατάφερα και έκλεισα τραπέζι (γίνεται χαμός, μην πάτε χωρίς κράτηση, κάλεσα μια βδομάδα πριν και είχε ελεύθερο μόνο ένα τραπέζι!!!) και βρεθήκαμε εκεί το μεσημέρι της 28ης Οκτωβρίου. Καθήσαμε στον εξωτερικό χώρο καθώς στην παρέα είχαμε ανεμβολίαστες οπότε δεν μπορώ να εκφέρω γνώμη για το εσωτερικό του μαγαζιού.

Πήραμε τα κάτωθι: Σαλάτα Καισαράκη με απάκι χοιρινό και κοτόπουλο (πρωτότυπη και εξαιρετική) Τηγανητές πατάτες με στάκα (με την φλούδα, τις σερβίρουν σκέτες, αν ζητήσετε και στάκα δεν νομίζω να σας το αρνηθούν) Κεφτέδες (τέλειοι) Μανωλιός (ομελέτα με στάκα, απάκι χοιρινό και πατάτες) Ποιημα!!! Κριθαρότο μανιταριών (αδιάφορο, δεν το προτείνω) Χοιρινή τηγανιά με φέτα (Απίθανη) Στάκα με αυγά μάτια (τι να λέμε τώρα... στην επόμενη επίσκεψή μας, αυτό το πιάτο μαζί με τηγανιτές πατάτες... τίποτα καλύτερο) Χοχλιοί μπουμπουριστοί (θεωρώ ότι χρειάζονταν ακόμα λίγο ξύδι, επίσης λίγοι στην μερίδα) Απάκι χοιρινό (δεν ήταν πολύ βαρύ, τρωγόταν άνετα) Ανωγειανή μακαρονάδα (άγευστη, δεν την προτείνω) Λασιθιώτικα γλυκά τυροπιτάκια (τέλειο συνοδευτικό στην πολύ καλή ρακί που έχουν) Λασιθιώτικη μυζηθρόπιτα (αφού έχετε φάει τα παραπάνω, η συγκεκριμένη πίτα έρχεται να σας γλυκάνει τόσο όμορφα...) 2 καραφάκια ρακί των 200 ml Αναψυκτικά

Ολα τα παραπάνω κόστισαν €90, καθόλου άσχημα για την ποσότητα και πρωτίστως την ποιότητα των παραπάνω εδεσμάτων!!! Επιπλέον, το προσωπικό ήταν ευγενέστατο και πρόθυμο να εξυπηρετήσει άμεσα την όποια γαστριμαργική ανάγκη μας!!!

Θεωρώ ότι είναι μια από τις καλύτερες επιλογές σε κρητική ταβέρνα για τα νότια προάστια και θα προσπαθήσω να την ξαναεπισκεφτώ το...
