Τηλέτυπος Γευσηπωλείον — Restaurant in Municipality of Kalavryta

There is a reason this restaurant has 4.9 stars... because IT'S AWESOME! So homely, so delicious, we came two nights in a row! We haven't got a handle on the Greek language so the first time we came google translate helped but the second night one of the waiters speaks English and described the dishes for us. Mind you, it was super fun working out what to get the first night. We started with the Eggplant dip and the feta dip, which translates to 'hot' cheese dip but after actually using my brain, I think it's actually spicy fetta dip. It is not actually spicy, it does have dried Chilli on the top but not spicy.

The bread is so fresh and delicious and you must pile the dip (meze) on.

We also had a soup with veal sausage and little pastini in it. Ah-mazing. Then the spaghetti that had falling apart beef in it which was tasty too.

Then tonight we had the cheese pie which is fetta wrapped in phyllo with honey and sesame seeds on top. So good! We had the Eggplant with Onion and fetta which is epic, and vegetarian Then the same soup with the veal sausage and pastini. Then, I finished off with the pork steak with homemade chippies (fries for anyone who is not aussie). So fresh, so yummy.

We also had a 500ml house red to share which complemented everything nicely.

Honestly the best food I've ever had in Greece. If no one here speaks your language, have fun and ask them to bring what they recommend. What's life without fun!?

That's a true gem of Kalavryta. We already visited over 5 other taverns in the area and now we are confident this one is among the very best, maybe even the best. Especially when compared to some other taverns in the town with higher amount of reviews, this one is way ahead - both when it comes to the service and the food quality.

Because it's an off season now, the menu was limited, but the choice was still sufficient. We took a greek salad , tzadziki, grilled veal tenderloin and a traditional soup. Everything was prepared from best products and served with a twist. We were also impressed that we were offered to choose a side dish - rice and baked potatoes instead of just french fries which we had everywhere else.

The owners are a very pleasant nice family, they definitely love what they do, because the are going extra mile to make you happy and fulfil your needs even before you asked for.

December 26th 2024.. Service very very bad.. party of 8 .. 1430hours reservation.. order they came to take after 30 minutes.. after additional 30 minutes drinks came.. and after a total of 50 minutes after order . .. the dishes started comming.. not even salads was served before.. the main dishes came and salads came after.. had gotten up 2 x to ask what is going on and the second time the owner herself replied "you see me sitting we are busy" she replied this 2 times in 30 seconds. this is unacceptable and I am a person who has a house there locally for over 20 years and i have never seen anything like this or reactions as this from...
