Just across the creek from Arkasa, tucked away like a secret, you’ll find one of the most romantic and charming restaurants in Karpathos.
This place isn’t just about food — it’s about family, passion, and a dream brought to life. Eight years ago, a family from Slovakia made the bold decision to leave everything behind and move to Karpathos. They run their businesses remotely, but their heart is in this restaurant. Martin warmly welcomes guests while his sons lend a hand, and his wife brings magic to the kitchen. It’s a beautiful story of love, courage, and Greek hospitality.
The food offers a delightful mix of traditional Greek dishes with a creative twist. Everything we tried had a comforting, homemade touch — perfect for food lovers, even if you don’t call yourself a connoisseur.
The menu is small but thoughtfully curated, ensuring quality over quantity. You’ll feel the warmth of the family in every bite. Be sure to try the fresh salads with seasonal fruits, the sweet and savory tirosalata, the crispy and aromatic kataifi-wrapped shrimp, and the rich, creamy mushroom pork.
If you’re looking for a cozy, genuine experience in Karpathos, this spot is a must. It’s not just a meal —...

It is located in a small, picturesque street in Arkasa with just a small amount of tables available outside. We were lucky and got the last table our first time. We liked the food, the hosts and the atmosphere so much we decided to make a reservation later the same week. If there's no tables available, the owner will make you a reservation for the next day if you like. And we absolutely think you should. The owner is a super nice guy who will make you feel comfortable and at home as you get served delicious food cooked by his lovely wife in one of the nicest, traditional looking streets of Arkasa.
Like many other places in Karpathos, the cats are roaming around. They mostly just look for food or occasionally play with each other. The bonus at Meeze is that they take care of the cats, which was heartwarming for us to hear. Next time we come to Karpathos we will definitely go...
Read moreFood was really excellent, traditional Greek cuisine with a modern take. Unfortunately, service is not up to the standard of the food nor the price, which is not crazy high but still at least 1.5x anywhere else in the island. The person attending the tables (who we believe was also the owner) is kind but very slow. We waited 20 min to have water and he didn’t clear the plates when he brought new ones even if we were clearly finished. They had cute bulb lights across the alley over the tables but he forgot to turn them on when it got dark.
They have about 5/6 tables so you must reserve. They have a 7 pm turn and a 8 pm one. Ok for 2/3 people no large groups as the tables are all in a very cute small alley.
Again the food is excellent, so if you don’t mind bumps in the service and want to try something different from the regular tavernas we recommend...
