We walked in with high hopes, especially since the place only had about 6–7 tables occupied — hardly a full house. Sadly, what followed felt less like dinner and more like waiting for a bus that never comes.
First up, the “octopus salad.” Now, I don’t mind creativity, but calling a plate of octopus sitting in olive oil with a sprinkle of parsley a salad is… ambitious. Then came the fried calamari, which arrived completely alone, no sides, no warning. Normally, we’d just order something to go with it, but our waiter had clearly mastered the art of avoiding eye contact. We called him three times, and each time he rushed by like we were invisible. A simple “calamari comes solo” heads-up would’ve spared us the joy of staring at our lonely squid rings.
And then came the bill — or rather, the hunt for it. Our waiter, who had ignored us all evening, suddenly found plenty of time for a new table while forgetting we existed. My husband had to physically get up, corner him, and then watch him wrestle with the receipt like it was some lost ancient scroll. Eventually, we paid and escaped.
